Default Jose Bautista

Just dropped his bat and clutched his left wrist/forearm after crushing a ball foul.

Came out of the game...doesn't look good.

Yeah...I think the impact to our defense is bigger with this loss than our offense

LOL and as I say it Ja Fra gives up a grand slam.

Sigh....

Edit: All the Jays are saying right now with regards to Bautista is it's a left wrist injury.

Blue Jays-Official ‏@BlueJays
Bautista Update: no break, tendon injury, will have an MRI tomorrow to determine extent of injury

Shi Davidi ‏@ShiDavidi
Source: Blue Jays will call up top prospect Anthony Gose if Jose Bautista needs to be put on disabled list after doctor's exam tomorrow.

Keep the fingers crossed...though I'm not gonna lie I'm curious to see how Anthony Gose would do in the big leagues.

#Bluejays have placed Jose Bautista on the 15-day DL with left wrist inflammation. Gose called up, Brandon Morrow to the 60-day DL. #jays
Here's an update on Bautista.

Will Gose take over regular RF duties? Or will Davis or Rasmus?

Gose will be in right field, Rasmus in centre and Davis in left.

This could just be fifteen days or so and Bautista will be back, but we will see.

I'm guessing it will be longer.. Pretty hard for a power hitter to come back in two weeks from a wrist injury..

Yeah my guess is it'll be awhile...I find these types of internal injuries are way worse than just being banged up. I'll be surprised if he's back in 15 days.

Based on what I'm reading and hearing so far, I think 3 weeks is a pretty fair estimate. No tears, nothing broken etc. It's very rare for tendon irritation in the wrist to take more than 3 weeks to feel much better unless he has tendonitis. Soft tissue is a tricky thing but this seems to be a lucky break for the most part.
