Default Nabokov vs Dipietro

How can we compare these two goalies between these two now that Montoya is out ?

I bet that Nabokov sould normally take 65% of the starts but with the legendary health of Dipietro, i could easely jump to 80% that mean around 65 starts. But with the Iles... that mean what ??? 25-30 wins. Difficult for me to evaluate this team for the next year...

What is your opinion on that ???

The last time Dipietro started more than 26 games was 5 YEARS AGO. Hoooly.

Don't count on Dipietro for much. I wouldn't even bother drafting him because I highly doubt anyone will either.
As for Nabokov, I could easily see him toss out 25 wins if he starts at least 55 games. Problem with NYI is that they're extremely hard to predict, every year you think they're turning the corner and then they disappoint. Honestly though, I think it is conceivable that Nabokov could end up with 30 wins in 55-60 starts if NYI can up their game a bit and if Nabokov can stay healthy.

Now that b0ndon wrote this, watch Dipietro get 35 wins hahaha. Nabokov is the safer choice here though. No point in having Dipietro at the moment given his history. Everybody wants this guy to pull through, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

As you see, I have Schneider as my first starter next year beacause it appear now that Luongo will move out of Vancouver pretty soon. The problem is my second starter. Last year, I thought that Vokoun would take this spot but it seem that he wont get more than 25 start next year now that is behind Fleury. Hope that my safety (Nabokov) will make the job !!!

When Dipietro goes down, guys like Nilsson and Poulin will get opportunities.

Yup, and that is the way of fantasy hockey - damned if you do and damned if you don't sometimes.

Haha yeah, especially with NYI goaltending as well. As far as the NHL is concerned, NYI and CHI are like the worst in terms of goaltending luck.

2011
Nabokov - 41 GS
Montoya - 26 GS
DiPietro - 6 GS
Poulin - 6 GS
Nilsson - 3 GS

2010
DiPietro - 26 GS
Roloson - 20 GS
Montoya - 18 GS
Poulin - 7 GS
Lawson - 7 GS
Koskinen - 4 GS

2009
Roloson - 49 GS
Biron - 26 GS
DiPietro - 7 GS

2008
McDonald - 46 GS
Danis - 29 GS
DiPietro - 5 GS
Mannino - 2 GS

And the list goes on. Basically NYI goaltending is a huge cluster**** every year lol. Just about the only thing you can honestly count on is DiPietro WILL suffer SOME form of injury (and you've got the b0ndon guarantee on that one )

Thanks guys for your moral support....As I can read, I'm in deep shit.

I'll start to pray for a divine help that put Hedberg first goalie in NJ.... Or try to make a trade to get a better goalie

One thing I will say is that IF Dipietro ever has a healthy season (highly unlikely) he is still the golden boy over there. He would get the majority of starts. They would ride that horse till it dies (again).

That's the truth - the big IF - it's what keeps the guy in play in fantasy hockey leagues each year.
