I've been polishing off a lot of John Grisham books lately.

A Time To Kill is easily my favourite. Highly recommend it if you like legal thrillers.

Just read Into the Silence by Wade Davis, it's a look at the British Everest Expeditions of 1921, 1922 and 1924. A large part of the book describes the actual expedition events but the author also goes into detail about what each man who participated in the expeditions went through during service in WW1. It is at times tedious due to the amount of information being relayed about the expeditions but a very interesting read nonetheless and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading about everest, mountaineering or exploration in general.

Diving head first into Tim Severin's Viking Trilogy. I'm about 1/3 of the way into Odinn's Child, the first book, and I'm riveted. That was part of a huge haul of books for Christmas. I also got...

A Song of Fire and Ice (1-4)
Wheel of Time (1-9)
Newsflesh Trilogy
World War Z
Grail Quest series by Bernard Cornwell
The Princes of Ireland and The Rebels of Ireland by Edward Rutherford

Should keep me in reading material through the winter.

Some of these might be the same, but here is my list of books I'm reading:

The Hero of Ages. It's a Mistborn novel by Brandon Sanderson
The Divine Comedy: The Inferno. I'm reading this one on the pot in my master bedroom suite. lol
Towers of Midnight The latest book of the Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan/Sanderson though the new and last one comes out soon.
Percy Jackson and the Lightning thief. Reading this almost as research for my own YA novel I'm working on every so slowly.

Oh man if you havent read the warlord chronicles/saxon stories by Bernard Cornwell you are in for a treat, I dont think he has released the last book yet but if you like fantasy and Norse (viking) mythology than you will love them, the main character Uthred is amazing. It is an absolutely fantastic series and one of the best examples of historical fiction I have ever read (Conn Igullden's Genghis Khan series is up there as well.)

Edit:

the books so far are in order:

The Last Kingdom
The Pale Horseman
Lords of the North
The Sword Song
Burning Land
Death of Kings

It's on my list. I'm a huge fan of anything with a Norse or Saxon story. I've always been fascinated by books, movies, heck even music (Amon Amarth, Bathory, Tyr) that sets it's themes and stories in that era.

I'll second this - I laughed out loud at parts, a really good read. I actually read it several years ago and still list it among my favourites.

Had some time during the holidays so made my way through:

Half-Blood Blues (Esi Edugyan) - terrific read.
Disgrace (J.M. Coetzee) - One of my favorite authors. A great book that deals with some harsh and disturbing matters/topics.
To Have and Have Not (Ernest Hemingway) - I've enjoyed most of his books that I've read, this one included.

For all that are interested... The last book (#14) of the wheel of time series, "A Memory of Light", came out today (1/8/13). They also had a short prologue come out called "By Grace and Banners" a little bit ago.

Here is what I am currently reading:

Letters from a Stoic - Seneca

The Intelligent Investor (got stuck half-way on a previous attempt, would like to finish) - Benjamin Graham

The 4-Hour Chef - Tim Ferriss (loved his first two books, the 4-Hour Body and the 4-Hour Work Week).

Are you going full Tim Ferriss mode, Jeff? The first two are Ferriss staples whenever he gives out reading tips
