Considering you'd probably be able to do better than Freeman in the draft, I'd go for depth at RB, which is priceless. Sproles, Mendenhall and Maclin would be my picks.

Forget Hillis, he's backing up Jamaal Charles in KC now.

The 4th choice for me would be Mendenhall but with his injury, why bother?

Plus preserving QB, RB and WR leaves you open to take best available - finishing last you should have first pick, right? You may get a top 25 player with that pick so you'll be in this.

Change your team name 'Worst to First' and start getting an attitude

I have the 3rd overall pick by virtue of a tie in week two. Two other teams tied for the worst record overall but 3rd is still a good pick.

Mendenhall might be out for a while and I'm sure I can redraft him if need be.

Mendenhall may not even be back by mid season, and, even if he is they will limit him out of the gate.

Just curious, how many QB/RB do you start each week?

***
I know nobody likes Hillis... but another injury to Charles elevates Hillis value quickly.
As injuries go, Charles' having an ACL tear scares the crap out of me.
I've had an ACL tear - that shit gets in your head.

Hillis may get the goalline touches anyways.
Similar to other sports, player value can be all about "potential".
If Hillis ends up being KC's #1 back, he's got awesome trade value.

Just another thought to consider, what's more likely:
i) Redrafting Hillis
ii) Redrafting Freeman
***

Like hockey, I think positions matter.
If it's 1QB/1RB/1 flex... yeah, probably Freeman
If it's 1QB/2RB/... Hillis might have solid value in a 16-team league.

We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 1 RB/WR and 2 WR and I think Hillis would probably be easier to redraft. In our league people love their QB's, quite a few went in the first round Freeman was the best of what was left at my pick in the 3rd.

Default I think?

I would think redrafting Hillis OR Freeman with that #3 draft slot would be fairly easy. Neither are 'studs'

Neither of them would be in the top 50 in a draft held today and possibly not in the top 75. SOMEONE in that league put together some great luck and has 4 top 25-30 players and has to put one back in the pool. Hopefully 3 teams have that situation and your 3rd pick is a top 25 player to add to what you have.
