I am not going to rank the entire list because I'd be lieing to you if I knew exactly how well the Jr guys and the guys who have been playing in the minors are really going to produce anytime soon. What I will do is list the top few of the guys I think are worth getting now from your list.

I would rank them like this:

Faulk - 22 pts in 66 games. Carolina has some excellent young Dmen up and coming (McBain, Murphy, etc) and they will all be following this kids lead. Hes still learning how to be a top Dman and will only get better with time.

Nikitin - guy had 32 points in 61 games last year. Easily could have been 40+ if he had played the whole season. This guy will be a solid producer for years to come.

Leddy - 37 pts in 82 games. Very respectable numbers considering he isnt even considered one of their top 2 Dmen.

Orlov - 19 pts in 60 games. His situation isnt as clear because of the depth on the blueline in Washington but when he gets his shot, and its just a matter of time before he gets his shot, he will be a solid point producer for years to come.

I could have easily flip-flopped Nikitin for Faulk as I think both are your best options to grab if available. its too hard to judge how the others will perform until they actually get the chance. Others may want to take a shot at ranking them. For me to rank them would be like taking a dump in the woods. Who knows where its going to land.

Awesome. Thanks guys. I had Faulk at the top of my list as well, so that's pretty reassuring.

You may be shocked but Faulk isn't even in my top 3 on this list. I am not buying into all this Faulk love just yet. He has done nothing to show me that he is going to be a major point producer from the back-end. Especially in Points Only Keeper Leagues..

My list:

Orlov(just wait until he gets his shot with top minutes, its coming soon)
Schultz(lots of hype by it is deserved)
Nikitin(even though he is already 25 years old)
Faulk(great poise for such a young d-man, just don't see all the points)
Leddy(as long as keith and seabrook are around, he will be held back)

Damn! Lol. You have to love the beauty of multiple perspectives. Thanks for your list, Zorro.

At least the top 5 have been consistent. It will be interesting to see what my fellow GMs do at this year's draft...

I think alot depends on how long you want to wait.

If you have a farm theres a few kids there that would shoot up my list.

For now Faulk and Orlov are both very good choices(Now and future blend) and clearly the top 2.

I may be bias, but I'd agree with Zorro too

Orlov(with departure of Wideman, minutes will steadily increase)
Schultz(could be top of list depending on where he lands)
Nikitin(Wisniewski oft injured, could log lots on PP w/ Johnson)
Faulk(may surpass McBain....maybe not)
Leddy(#3, but a Keith or Seabrook injury away from getting top PP mins.)

How about a guy like Josi? Is he available? With Suter leaving, he could jump up in NSH depth.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I really appreciate the help.

Sparrow, we don't have a farm team, however practically every team in our league has at least 1 or 2 young/prospect Dman that they sit on for a while, so I have no issue with waiting for development. I drafted Stefan Elliott last year with this mentality. Hopefully he develops nicely

Rainman, Josi is available! You bring up a great point with Suter. The Dman log jam in NSH has always made me hesitant to draft guys like Josi or Ellis, but now with all the uncertainty surrounding Weber and Suter it might be a good move to take a flyer on Josi (Ellis is not available). Where would you rank Josi in my list?

Thanks again.
