Default Patrik Berglund

Heres another one to discuss specifically.
By most accounts he's been a major disappointment.
After a promising 3rd year his numbers dropped drastically this past year after some indifferent play.
On a positive note, when Hitchcock took over, one could see a slight improvement in his numbers. Especially in Pts, hits & SOG. Not significant mind you.

Is there any reason to keep the hope alive for this guy?

I still have hope because of how the team around him is developing and because of what they have on the way. It also spearks volumes that he was not only able to work in Hitchcock's system (something some thought impossible based on his career at that point) but actually improve in it.

i wouldn't expect anymore than 55pts from berglund. far too inconsistent. he has all the skill but seems to lack the proper mind set and/or drive to ever put up the points most of us were expecting him too. maybe he will put up better numbers in another 3-4 years when he can ride along with schwartz and tarasenko but how long are you willing to wait for this guy?

I agree. He has the tools but perhaps no toolbox.

I think keeping Berglund is highly situational to your team and league. I, for one, am not ready to write him off, so if you can keep him when his replacement option is not much more certain, then I would. Blues have a heck of a team for the next few seasons and he will get his shot at contributing even under Hitch. No, he won't put up 75 but then not many are doing that these days.

Howeve, I do think in many leagues that Berglund is probably redraftable - I am weighing a similar decision on Mueller and I think I need to let him go and try and catch him in the redraft on the off chance he finally overcomes his injury woes.
