12 team H2H points league. League is in year 4 of 6.

I am currently 0-3 (after finishing 2nd the last 2 years) with rough starts from Pujols and Josh Johnson (my fav player)

I have other managers asking for trades every day. I don't know what is fair value becasue I LOVE JJ. I would also prefer not to trade Pujols becasue he is part of my team name (ARodinmyPujols) ... but I can give that up

I have a gm that would love to get his hands on those two.

In a H2H league, you are aiming to have the best team for the H2H playoffs.
I think there is a better chance going with the younger/healthier players.

I break it down like this.

On a scale of 1-10:
9.0 Pujols (Healthy) + JJ (Healthy)
8.0 Votto (Healthy) + Hamels (Healthy)

Odds that those players will stay healthy all year:
75% Pujols + JJ
90% Votto + Hamels

9.0x75% = 6.75
8.0x90% = 7.20

It's risk-reward math.
I'll take the safer bet.

All that said... fantasy baseball needs to be fun.
I (personally) won't part with my favourite player for a slight-trade-improvement.

If it was my team... with my favourite player, I'd be keeping him.

I'd do that trade even if it was last year.
