Default Braun deal Update: Trade Accepted

Sorry for another thread, but I try to give advice as well. Still feels like I've been making alot of threads lately.

It's a pretty massive trade, so I want to get some other opinions.

Team/league is in signature. I've built this team the slow way, adding prospects and waiting for them to become stars (Stanton, Heyward, Jennings etc etc. were all added before they were in the majors), so I really like alot of my players. It's like we've grown up together. So sappy I know haha.

ANYWAYS, here's the offer.

To me: Ryan Braun, Tommy Hanson, Brian Wilson
To him: Jason Heyward, Jesus Montero, Julio Teheran/Mike Trout

I countered with Brett Myers instead of Teheran but then he countered with Trout instead. Should I accept with Teheran? Maybe try Volquez? Or just walk away? Other ideas?

I'd stay away from Brian Wilson, since he's out for this season at least. If you get a different closer this could work. You'd be getting the best player in the deal with Braun.

For sure I take the deal if he could either throw in another closer or even a pick. Heyward could have huge upside but hasn't shown it for a full season yet. Braun is, well Braun he is by far the best player in this deal.

don't include trout in the deal. don't accept wilson. looks like he really wants heyward/montero from you. make him pay.

i think he is paying a fair price for heyward and montero, braun and hanson are pretty great returns for some guys who may be great ball players. i would try to do the deal without wilson and trout if i could.

You absolutely do this deal. If you can, exclude Brian Wilson and get a closer you can use and play up that you're looking to go for it this year. Offer him Teheran instead of Trout.

Well, he accepted my latest offer. Done deal is:

To me: Ryan Braun and Tommy Hanson
To him: Jason Heyward and Jesus Montero

Pretty fair, right?

This is an open question for everyone, not just djkiang.

I think that deal works out well for you, especially in that you got easily the best player in the deal, and you kept your elite prospects. The price was fairly steep, but there's no guarantee that Heyward takes a significant step this year, and Montero is going the way of the DH.
