Team in sig. I inquired about Hanley Ramirez because his owner is in a rebuild. I've received this offer.
Brett Anderson (3 year contract) + Michael Pineda (still farm eligible could be signed to contract) + Danny Espinosa (expiring farm must be signed to contract) + Shin-Soo Choo (1 year left) for Hanley Ramirez (3) + Rasmus(2)/Melk. Cabrera(1)/Fowler(3) I have bet heavily on this season, having acquired Cliff Lee who is on an expiring contract in a deal which saw me give my best prospect arm in Tyler Skaggs, so, I am not opposed to moving Anderson who will not help me this year and Pineda (since I return Kershaw, Hanson, Garza and next year is a strong draft). Espinosa is tougher because I have no internal replacement. Two picks to go until it gets back to me and Cuddyer is available. I think he is a decent replacement for Espinosa (similar HR, RBI, higher OBP/lower SB). I have more SB to spare and could use OBP. Choo is not the end of the world since he'll be gone after this year, and the three options amount to decent replacements who will platoon with Bourjos. Note that expiring contracts mean players go back i nto the draft unless re-signed and teams only get one re-sign every other year, so most players expiring go into the draft. I think I do get a net gain by moving Bonifacio to my bench and slotting Hanley into SS. My rotation only really loses Pineda and my power/rbi numbers were a bigger need than that extra arm for me. My concern is, if I select Cuddyer with my next pick, I will pass on the last two closers that I have decent interest in -- Santos and League. This puts me in a spot of picking a Balfour, Johnson type later int he draft and counting on Jansen to win the job -- far from a guarantee. My only thought is to try to include Jake McGee in an effort to get Guerra in the deal as well to pair with Jansen. But I'd probably need to sweeten that a bit more. So: Bonifacio replaced by Reyes Espinosa replaced by Cuddyer Choo replaced by Rasmus/Fowler Pineda out Anderson out (in the future) Thoughts? |

Great deal for you. Accept.
*Edit* I just read Reyes name on this line "Bonifacio replaced by Reyes". What does this mean?

I countered saying I can't include both Pineda and Espinosa, citing Espinosa's possible (likey?) move to SS.
I countered: Anderson + Espinosa + Choo + Franklin for Hanley + Rasmus or Anderson + Hanson + Espinosa + Choo + Gamel + McGee for Hanley + Victorino + Guerra |

My hope in countering is to try to get Guerra added to the deal somehow. Or Victorino as the OF instead of Rasmus/Fowler.
If I can get either of those things in the original deal, I'd prob do both Pineda and Espinosa. |

guerra is right next to capps and now myers on my list of short-lived closers. i have full confidence jansen wins the closer job, soon, and looks a lot like kimbrel doing it.
j johnson should be available late, and i think he'll be fine.
