Matt Holliday has officially been dealt to the Cardinals with Brett Wallace (3B Prospect being the main piece) heading back to Oakland.
http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?...=.jsp&c_id=mlb Some of my thoughts from a fantasy perspective: Holliday gets an immediate boost in fantasy value going back to familiar league and familiar opposing pitchers. Not to mention having Pujols batting near you. Wallace's value as a prospect takes a slight hit I think. + Moves to a league where the DH is in play. His D at 3B is questionable and he will likely settle in at 1B after a few years at B, having a DH for off days and just an extra place for a big bat like his is just a bonus. - Will have less protection in the lineup around him when he breaks into the majors as early as next season as a call-up. + Does not have Pujols blocking him at 1B - Will play now in a less hitter friendly stadium in OAK. |
