Default Angels to pass on Texiera?

The Los Angeles Times reports that the Angels are \"unwilling to meet Mark Teixeira\'s desire for a 10-year contract\" and \"appear more likely at this time to pursue\" CC Sabathia.
According to the newspaper, the Angels \"appear reluctant to guarantee more than seven years in a contract for Teixeira\" and \"don\'t want to miss out on Sabathia while waiting to see whether Teixeira\'s asking price falls.\" However, general manager Tony Reagins said Monday that the Angels\' interest in Teixeira remains \"at a high level\" and the newspaper notes that he \"remains the Angels\' top priority.\"

I\'m still betting a 40% chance both of these guys end up in pinstripes. If they could pull down two top pitchers and Tex, they would be back at the top in the East this year.

Never say never but Yankee GM Cashman reiterated that they can sign either Sabathia or Teixeira but not both.

Whatever... they can do whatever they want. They just want to keep their prices down... even for Yankee standards

Boras is trying to control the market right now with unrealistic demands. 10 years was always crazy. 6 or 7 years will be my guess. The reason the Angels are frustrated is that Boras is still holding out hope that someone will bite at 10 years and won\'t talk seriously with the Angels. that won\'t change until Boras is convinced that 10 years is impossible.

This free agent market is very slow and even the Yankees are showing some restraint. The economy is having an affect, I think.

10 years......Boras is on crack......Tex does have ties back east so the possibility that he signs with the Tankees.....yes I said Tankees.......is better the 50/50 in my opinion.
