Default Sabathia vs Oswalt and others

Hey, I\'m glad to join the board!

So, I\'m in a tight spot and need some advice.
The trade I need some input on is Sabathia, 3rd round prospect pick for Oswalt, Hochevar, G. Reynolds (prospect on farm), 2nd round prospect pick.

How much of an upgrade is Sabathia over Oswalt? I like Oswalt\'s track record but the last three years his numbers have gone down. And the opposite has with CC.

I\'m looking to clear up a roster spot because I need saves and can callup Chris Perez from my farm. I also have David Price who I\'m sure I can use later this year when MLB rosters expand. Rick Porcello is also my property.

League info:
I\'m in a 16 team keeper league where all players are kept. I\'m in a battle for the playoffs and need a boost. My team right now is:

Laird, Pena, J. Lopez, ARod, M. Young, C. Quentin, Swisher, Longoria, Salty, Markakis, Morneau, Francouer (Standard positions, with two utility spots).

Oswalt, Lincecum, Veralnder, A. Sanchez, Zumaya, Weathers, B. Wilson, HC Kuo, Mahay, Samardzija, Francis, Hochevar, Billingsley (4sp, 3rp, 3p).

On the IR are Wang and Wainwright.

I\'m going to have to clear space next year for Price and possibly Porcello (plus Reynolds must be added as he\'s reach our minimum IP).

Sorry about the long first post. I just want to give all the details.

Thanks in advance.

Also, to J. Status. Sorry about my team in your league. One team can only endure so many injuries and call downs! I\'ll be ready next year.

Lol no problem man. Great draft picks can turn into a championship in that league!

As long as your O can take the hit of losing Reynolds\'s power numbers I would say this is a no brainer for you.

Sabathia is a HUGE upgrade over Oswalt right now. C.C. COULD sign in some small market low budget team with little chance of a .500 record. But that seems a little unlikely to me. Oswalt\'s numbers have regressed as you said for the last three years or so. He is now far from the fantasy ace that he once was, and Sabathia is now.

2nd for a 3rd round prospect pick should be negligable but I\'d have to get a little more detail on your format to analyse that. Unless I\'m missing something you win this deal now, and later (as Sabathia is better than Hochevar will be).

Lincecum
Sabathia
Billingsley
Price
Verlander
(Porcello)

Your starting pitching is both young and Stacked!!

Mase you know I love to consolidate my talent. Despite your FA probably being pretty picked over with 16 teams, I still think the upgrade and extra roster space to play with is well worth it. As I mentioned in the ramblings, Sabathia is probably the most valuable player the rest of this season and should be a star for years to come as he is a horse.

New to the board.

I like the trade for you as well. Oswalt is slowing down while CC is just getting better and better.
