De Haan was really hypd during his draft year. He was a very good puck moving d-man with average defense play.
In the other hand, Micheal Stone had a very good season this year, and it seems that both players play the same style, except Stone is bigger. If you would have to choose, which has more potential?

de Haan for me, based on opportunity. There's a bit more risk there but if either one becomes a relevant point producer it will be him.
Stone is already playing behind Yandle, OEL and Rundblad. Even if one gets traded, that's still not enough to give him a chance at PP1. He'll have to settle in as a two-way dman which is only really useful in roto leagues.

De Haan for me to like ericdaoust said above De Haan has more opportunity and while i think hes a bit of a project i still think he will end up being a good NHL defensemen. His offensive talent is great. Stone has too much in front of him and i don't even see him being fantasy relevant.

I'll take Stone. Something about that family.

No kidding. It's pretty amazing when such a good player gets lost in the shuffle, but in Phoenix that is precisely what happens with Gormley. Stone is going to be stuck in a two-way role.
