Default VICTORY!!!!! (thanks!)

Team and league scoring in sig below.

I began checking this site out last year and this year it was the first time I purchased the Fantasy Guide and the Mid-Season Guide. It was also the first time that I used the boards here.

Made 4 trades during the season :

1- Gave up Havlat (just before his injury) - Burns (I got him back in trade 3) - Hiller and got Lundqvist (sort of a slow start) - Horton (gave him away in trade 2) - S.Weber (sort of a slow start too).

2- Gave up Toews (before his concussion obviously) - Horton (before his concussion) - E.Johnson and got Zetterberg (slow start) - Parise (very slow start) - Edler.

This was a weird trade to negociate. After he asked for Toews and Giroux, I had him down to Toews-Goligoski vs Zetterberg-Edler. He wanted to add Marchand and Parise to the deal to give HIM some margin of error... When I asked to change Marchand for Horton (because the other GMs in my league veto too easily), he said "in that case I want E.Johnson instead of Goligoski. At that point, I stopped trying to make sense of his reasoning and just took it before he woke up.

3- Gave up Marchand - Voracek - McBain and got Callahan - Roy - Burns.

Mid-Season guide mentionned Callahan and Roy as strong finishers, so I wanted to play the odds here. And at that time, Burns has less points than McBain, but the general feeling on these boards was that he was going to turn things around (which he sorta did).

4- Gave up Pietrangelo and Crawford for Streit and Reimer.

The only trade which was really disadvantaging for me. The reasoning at the time was that, since 3rd goalie doesn't count, then Crawford was expendable and Streit had more points than Pietrangelo at the time...

At the Mid-Season draft, I dropped Berglund and Mueller and picked up Franzen and Filppula. a bit of an emotionnal choice here as I kept Crosby, but there was always a chance that he would come back sooner than he did.

I always came here to double-check (well... triple-check since I always discuss my trades with a buddy of mine) my trades and seek out some advice and other insight, so I just wanted to take some time to say thank you to everyone who replied to my threads, your advice was very appreciated (and repped from time to time), so THANK YOU!!!!

If I gave you any goalie advice this year I probably don't deserve your gratitude lol.

b0ndon : the only trade where I may have asked for goalie advice was in my first deal, but Lundqvist compared to Hiller... I don't think it was really hard to figure out, so rest easy!

But here I wrote about the trades that did occur, but you guys also gave me new insight on trades that I might have accepted, but then didn't and dodged a major bullet. For instance, I remember asking about the following offer : Giroux-Toews-E.Johnson vs Zetterberg-Thornton-Edler. Luckily, many of you managed to talk me out of it (I remember Monster of Metal amongst others...). While this deal might not have been so bad, it pales in comparaison to what I managed to get instead (Toews-Horton-E.Johnson vs Zetterberg-Parise-Edler), especially since I couldn't forsee that Toews would get injured and miss a lot of time.

Thanks again Dobberites!
