Can only start 2:
Anderson, Rinne, Backstrom, Budaj... Tied in wins and have a very slim lead in GAA and SV%. My opponent has Thomas, Niemi and Kipprusoff and can start all 3... Appreciate any thoughts, thanks! |

Hey Welcome to the boards!
Anderson has nice career splits vs Jersey. 5-1-1, 2.21 GAA and .939 SP... Rinne also has nice splits vs Colorado. 10-3-0, 2.30 GAA and .909 SP... But the thing is he might not play. There were a few reports of the Preds wanting to give Rinne a lot of rest this week. The main thing is that Nashville still has to play for home ice advantage, playing at home for game 1 compared to playing in Detroit for game 1 is monsterous. So they might be inclined to give Rinne the start to secure home ice. Backstrom also has favourable stats against Coyotes, but he has the weaker team in front of him. 11-7-0, 2.02 GAA and .936 SP... With that said Phoenix is 4-6-1 (0-5-1 in last 6) in B2B games averaging just 2.18 goals per game in the 2nd half of games. Wouldn't trust Budaj at all... So 3 would be Anderson, Rinne and Backstrom... I'd go with Anderson and Rinne, but keep an eye with goaliepost to see if Rinne starts...

Thanks so much for the thoughts and the help. I am leaning towards starting Anderson and would of course start Rinne. What do you think of picking up Lindback and starting him instead of Backstrom in the event that Rinne doesn't start?
I have not heard anything about Kiprusoff and Niemi starting, but I'd hate to start Anderson in the early game and have him get hit hard, only to find out my opponent's only start will be Thomas if Niemi and Kiprusoff get benched. That's why I'm on the fence about what to do... |
