Like most of the threads recently, I have to keep 2 out of the following group. I do not need production from them next year and I'm more interested in 3 year upside. Positions don't matter. There's no farm, but I have a large bench.
PERRON - High shooting % at the moment. Top PP, but they have an influx of young forwards who could be battling for TOI and PP1 time. Also possible concussion issues BERGLUND - I love the Blues, but own too many of these guys (also own Oshie). PP time worries me with Bergie and he only seems to step up with Andy Mac in the line up SCHWARTZ - see above. Does he have Parise upside? will he get enough ice time to develop? Angus has his 3 year upside at 75 pts LITTLE - Could see him put up 30 goals next year. +/- has been pretty atrocious. The Ladd-Little-Wheeler line seems to have developed chemistry over the last half of the season LADD - See above. Solid multi cat guy and gets top pp time. Upside is low, but definitely a great contributor BAERTSCHI - Who else is going to score in Calgary's future? Should get tons of opportunity as the door is wide open. Angus has his 3 year upside at 60pts thx guys! Need to keep the boards going during the quiet time ![]() NOTE: We are required to play 82 games by a rookie(s) every year. I already own Huberdeau and will be drafting Yakupov. Last edited by stick boy; 04-06-2012 at 04:34 PM. Reason: insufficient info |

You have to keep Bartschi, for sure. His trade value is through the roof and I estimate his 3 year upside at 70-75 points, maybe 80 if all goes well. The second choice is really tough though, Perron or Schwartz? Perron is far more proven but the St. Louis franchise has a ton of potential top 6 forwards. I'd likely go with Perron but it's a tough one.

In 3 yrs, I see Schwartz doing what Little/Perron were doing for the last 3 yrs - building confidence, gaining experience, developing team chemistry.
With that said, from next yr up to 3 yrs, I see Little/Perron securing top 6 minutes with an up and coming STL team and a wheel and deal WPG team. Besides the team concept, i like them both as they are gritty, skilled, good vision on the ice, gets their teammates involved and can create their own plays/space. Both will probably tops 60 w/in the next 3 yrs. Perron does come w/ a risk but im a bit of a gambler. Ill take the proven for now on this one.

I can redraft or find replacements for 50 - 60 pt guys. I'm just willing to hold my cards for a home run or use hyped players as trade bait. If I can get a future PPG out of this within 3 years? it might be worth the wait. Perron and Little could hit 60-70 next year. I could use that type of player. Basically I'm still wondering if any of these guys could flirt with the PPG mark within the next few seasons. |

I hear ya on this one. With Baertschi, w/in 3 yr time frame..we cant predict how the Flames will be moulded. Iggy might be retired? downgraded to a 3rd line checker? Its sad when I think of the Flames, cant think of anybody stepping up to compliment Baertschi. In short, I dont trust how things will turn around in CAL. Then again, Baertschi can be traded and excel w/ another team.Ladd as you poiinted out, upside is low. He is more of a locker room, character kind of guy. I guess that is why he is captain. STL trio is an interesting one. Good depth on their top 9 spots. That is why its hard to predict who'd step up and flirt w/ 60+, yet alone flirt w/ ppg pace. So i chose the players w/ pure offensive upside and skills, also who are in the position to contribute now and on pace for that in the next 3 yrs. But yeah, i doubt any of them touches ppg pace. Meh, you never know!

Out of the list of guys you made, I dont think any of them will ever surpass 70+ points except for Baertschi and possibly Schwartz.
The rest of them are complimentary players. All of them are quality players with 50-65 pts capabilities, but thats it, tops.
