Default Roster Shaping *REP*

I am at the end of a rebuild season and feel I have a chance to take a big step forward next year. Team is in Sig. I talked to the team in first and he is leaning at dropping Mike Green and Mike Richards..here is a list of notables to go with them..

Ales Hemsky Chris Stewart Teddy Purcell David Perron P A Parentaue Thomas Plekanec Mike Richards Blake Wheeler Alex Goligoski Mike Green Dimitri Kulikov Ray Whitney Ryane Clowe Cody Hodgson Brandon Morrow Mike Riberio

so I am 12 keepers labeled for sure in my sig, and am leaning to keep Subban as well. I will pick 1st and 2nd overall then not again till 6th round. I made the move for the picks to get Yakupov but his injuries have sacred me a bit.

do I

a) Keep Subban Letang Weber and draft a vet forward and Yak, or 2 vet forwards?

b) Keep Letang Weber and one of Simmonds or Wheeler and look to draft Yak and Green or Goli..

here is some more points to look at....Do I keep Simmonds and hope he turns into a Lucic or does anyone see Wheeler gaining more points next season?

is Yakupov for real!? or is Kuz or Granlund and better option?

REP FOR GOOD ADVICE!!

Keep Subban. Draft Yakupov and M.Richards/Ryane Clowe

That's my thought

Draft Yakupov (upside is too huge to ignore) and keep Subban. You have amazing multi cat d. wow.

Then start redrafting vets. You seem to be pretty stacked in PIM guys and would look for more pt production. My rankings for your 2nd picks are:

Wheeler (good multi cat with upside - 70 pts)
Richards (great multi cat guy, but hasn't been the same player after his concussion - 65 pts)
Simmonds (strong multi cat with tons of PIM - 55 pts)
Clowe (strong multi cat guy - 55 pts)
PAP (pts and PP reasons only. Still not sure how he fits in to NYI's future - 65pts)
Ribeiro - would have him higher on this list, but you don't need him at center

This is very safe advice. Yakky has huge name value, and upside, but lacks in hits, blocks etc, so grabbing Clowe will offset those issues. I see no other option as being nearly so strong.

It depends on your strategy. I am now using Pengwin7's roto strategy of stocking up on elite forwards regardless of extra cats. There are a ton of FA d who can fill in your BLKS, HITS, and PIM's.

However, Subban is a multi cat keeper stud. The questions you have to ask is relative to your competion.

How do your forward keepers stack up to the top 3 teams?
Are you weak in a certain position?
Are you low in certain cats?
Would you sacrifice a high end multi cat d for a 60-70 pt forward? (Richards and Wheeler)
Are you able to trade a Subban for an upgrade better than Wheeler, Clowe, and Richards?

A lot of guys dont have high stock in subban. Top 3 teams top fwrds are

Team 1. Datsyuk HSedin Thorton Zetterburg Cole Franzen
Team 2. D Sedin Stamkos Duchene Carter Eriksson lupul
Team 3. Giroux Perry Kessel Ryan Parise Kopitar

I had crosby and backstrom hurt all year plus Huberdeau as a na all year. They got lucky with goalies as well team 1 drafted Smith and Varly plus team 2 drafted Leighton and Amderson.

RWis a position I need to address I think I have solid multiple cat guys in Landeskog and Lucic could use another

You can't loose with Clowe, Simmonds, or Wheeler. Clowe and Simmonds fill in the cats and Wheeler has higher pt upside. He's also no cat slouch.

As mentioned before. I don't think you go wrong with Richards, Clowe, Wheeler or Simmonds as your 2nd pick overall. Shit! Is Clowe a right winger? I know Wheeler and Simmonds are.
