I think he's benefitting from getting top line minutes because there's no one else to give the minutes to (think Richard Zednik in Montreal: 30 goals when given top minutes).

Also, he's benefitting greatly from his linemates. But a new coach may split them up to try and get the other lines working (think Alfie when he was with Spezza and Heatley).

Everything had to go right for him this year to hit his current totals (lots of teammates injured, lots underachieving, finding the perfect line with Cole and DD, etc.).

I think 30 goals, 35 assists is right where he should be. He may hit 70 in a great year, but I wouldn't expect more than 65 out of him.
The way the league is going in terms of its lack of overall scoring this might turn out to be a great number even though it's not an actual increase.

He and Desharnais were top scorers in AHL few years ago.

He is a multicats stud, with a range of 70-80 pts.

The most points he ever had in a season in the AHL was 32 (17 goals). But it was in 27 games.

Those numbers have to be taken in context because he never played a full season in the AHL. He was in Montreal off-and-on until he was ready to be a top-6 mainstay.

I agree with this post. I owned Maxpac this year and he did great for me but I think its a little bit "pie in the sky" as my friend would say to start predicting him to break these totals next year. I think this was a good example of a career year for Max.

I think he's going to be much closer to this year's numbers more years than he is 75 pts, nevermind ppg. He'll probably have a career year in there to be sure but I see him much more as a consistent 65 pt type of guy

Default Upside

I think he has a chance to hit 75-80 for a number of reasons, for one, he has great speed (made Hedman look silly last night) but his quick first step is what makes that speed much more dangerous. Secondly, he fires the puck a lot and that won't change anytime soon. Thirdly, after he shoots or passes he goes right to the net so that Holmstrom type work ethic is there to cash in on "garbage" goals. Lastly, he's learning his trade from one of the best PF in the game... Oh, and he has a laser of a shot with a quick release.
