Stamkos? No way he moves.
Always the off chance the other guy has a steep drop off in keeper quality.
If he's got a taste for high risk gambles, there's always Ol' Mush Brains Crosby.

Stammer, Crosby and Giroux will not move. Not interested in Sedin sisters, for me it's a top goalie or stand pat.

thanks gang

Howard is uderated asc well , not for his elite goaltending but , for
his #1 status on an elite team.
That said I would stick with your chosen 5 and draft wisely for goalies.
You may want to re-consider Halak as well , St. Louis is a different team
since hitch took over.you could move one of your chosen 5 for a 1st rnd pick.
with that pick you grab another elite goalie , best available player or a youngster
like Yakupov or Huberdeau.

Have thought about the first round pick thing. I have one owner thinking about giving me his first round pick for Kovalchuk. He has two, 1st overall and 9th or 10th.

Because you have a fantasy points based league, if you're having trouble breaking down the trade, try this analysis:

Kovalchuk + Best available FA = His total points
vs.
(1st round guy's total pts - best available FA total pts) + Halak's pts = Your total points

You always need to look at the cost of you dropping guys and the advantage of him consolidating talent and picking up an FA in these kinds of trades.
I'd insist on 1st overall if I were you.

I know a stud goalie that you can get for free... and his name is Jaroslav Halak. Don't make the mistake of dropping this guy. Regardless of what Elliot did this year, Halak put up ridiculous numbers and he's a legitimate keeper goalie who is the starter in St Louis. If I were you, I'd try to do one of two things:

1. Trade Kovalchuk + Tavaras for Stamkos. Keep Stamkos and Halak.

2. Trade Kovalchuk for multiple draft picks and keep Halak.

2012 numbers: 25 W - 12 L - 6 SO - 1.97 GAA, .925sv%
2013 numbers: 30W - 8SO - 2.00 GAA - .925 sv%

My 2 cents.

See sometimes I am on the right track!
Heed the advise of Pianoman and Blades ,
Halak is too good to not reconsider.
I like the 1st for Kovi but , wait and see
what others have to say.

Interesting! I like the Stamkos trade, I still have my doubts that the owner would go for it. If that doesn't work I could offer up a bidding war for Kovy. The following goalies might be available in the draft (best guess):

Smith or Niemi (owner will keep one maybe both)
Hiller
Anderson
Vokoun
Neuvirth
Backstrom
Bernier
Theodore/Markstrom

Smith or Bernier probably the only ones I would consider over Halak. Also I have 15th pick in the first round (currently) so do they even last? It is definitely worth considering keeping Halak.
