Our situation I think is a bit different, I don't think I ever had a shot at winning it, I'm just streaming now to get back into some sort of respectability, hahaha. I'm trying to at least get back into third to be somewhat respectful after not paying attention to the league up until Xmas... I dunno to me if I won the league because I "outstreamed" you guys I don't think I'd be very proud of that, so what if I won the league if the winning strategy for me was to pick up as many guys as I could over someone else. I mean that's pretty BS IMO. if I wanted to beat you guys I'd want to beat you guys because I drafted better, made the right moves, or traded better than any one else in the league, not because I could pick up more players everyday to beat everyone else.

I guess there's the flip side of the coin too. I mean what would you do if you were in the boots of the other person. If you were in a H2H competition and you got beat because somebody else picked up 4 guys for a last minute Sunday match up, would you suck it up and say I got outplayed or would you kick up a fuss?

Don't get me wrong there's absolutely nothing wrong with using this strategy to maximize your chances of winning, all I'm saying is that not everyone has the balls to point the finger and find fault within themselves but there will be people out there that will hold a grudge. If you're happy making that decision while brushing away the consequences then so be it.
I think you are just setting a standard within yourself. The moves are there, whether or not you decide to use them is your own prerogative. If you want to win by out drafting or out trading others you should have a universal rule where it restricts you to do any moves and just go with what you have from start to finish. Don't join a league that gives you moves...

Remember, there is no such thing as a glorious loser. Only bitter ones...

Exactly, those who blame others for their losing should not be the OP's worry. It is not unethical, and he should not concern himself what the other manager may think after the fact. Putting myself in the other manager's shoes as you ask - like I said earlier - I would say 'well played'. I also had four moves so I have nothing to complain about if I were to lose.

As for our league, since there are max games than it's up to the manager how they manage their team. If they make 100 moves and wins then that's fine, as everyone is on a level playing field. It's not just streaming due to max games so they have made many good moves, not just trying to increase the number of players. It's not a strategy that I would use, but everyone is different. The point is, it's within the rules so if someone uses it, they shouldn't feel bad because others might sulk. Get the settings changed if you don't like it. Or join a different league.

Thanks for all interesting discussion Gotlaid and Horrorfan. The pool is actually with my hockey buddies so I see the other GM weekly (trash talk is highly encouraged). My competitor for the week is a pretty experienced GM but not experienced enough because he doesn't have Dobber in his back pocket. My team is actually pretty stacked and some how managed to get Sid and AO at the right time to carry me to the finals.

After the game last night I was up 9 - 7 with many categories very close. The other GM only has 3 players going today and I had 7. At the end of the day I decided to use all my waiver pick ups. They are waiver picks so we are not talking about the cream of the crop players anyways. Snagged Hudler, Sullivan, Neil (for PIMs), and Dubnyk (if needed - its the last game of the night so I can slot him in if I have to).

As the day plays out I am very curious to see what other GMs say. I will keep you posted.

Thanks again for the insight and rep to follow for good responses,
Cheers, Spoiler

End result 8 - 7 win, other GM wasnt' upset about the roster moves. He said the better team won.

My waiver picks didn't disappoint either:

Sullivan 2 goals
Neil - 1 assist and 5 PIMs
Hudler - 1 goal
Dubnyk - 2 - 1 win

Thanks again for the advice fellas!
Cheers

Congrats! Good to also hear that your opposition has shown good sportsmanship in defeat.
