He's battled a concussion and a serious lack of ice time this year.... but 1 point in 49 games?

Yikes.

He's AHL eligible next year - this year he was too young. Another year in Portland with Barstchi, Rattie, Ross, Morrow, etc would not have been the worst idea... Isles did this exact same thing with Josh Bailey.

Taylor Pyatt started with the Isles too young and had four goals in 78 games as a rookie. Career high is 37 points. How's that for a comparable?

Isles better be careful not to ruin these players...

He's like minus-infinity too. He got so far into the negatives they just stopped keeping track. I fear he just got the quintessential Islanders treatment. Rushed? Naaaawwww. He and Josh Bailey are going to be just fine.

How could you say they weren't rushed...

Nino was my pick in another thread for worst fantasy hockey player of 2011-2012.
I'd bet if you run the numbers through HPG, he'd be last.

49GP, 1G, 0A, 1pt, -24, 12PIM, 0PPP, 67SOG.

In a standard 6-cat skater league, I'd guess that these statistics would qualify as a Top Ten worst "fantasy hockey" season in the past... 25 years.
These stats are THAT BAD.

They badly need to send him back to juniors to play in the WHL playoffs and potentially the Memorial Cup. Dominating some meaningful games would be really good for him and if it doesn't happen I chalk it up to one thing: that the Isles don't want to admit that they rushed him.

Or incompetence? It's the same team that gave Rick Dipietro 15 years and also the team that signed and bought out Alexei Yashin.

they aren't allowed to send him back now, I believe. I remember hearing that the trade deadline was the deadline or somewhere around then.
