Hitch already stated Elliott in tomorrow. Can only think Rinne will play too.
Dynasty league and team in stats. I have both goalies. Only count W, OTL, and SO for stats. I only have 9 more games to play for my goalies split between Rinne, Ward, and Elliott. I was hoping to play all Rinne and Elliott games for sure here on out and Ward in some other games they play like TOR, MTL, or FLA. I think Elliott is due for a couple goals against. And NAS has won 4 of the 5 vs STL with that one loss in a shoot out. Leaning towards Rinne and save the Elliott game as I'd expect him and Halak to split all remaining games unless a SO occurs.

Thats a tough call, I can really see it going either way. I would probably start them both as its likely going to be a pretty low scoring affair.
I may have a bias as a Halak owner, but I wouldn't expect a split between Halak and Elliott. In the last month Halak has been playing about 2 games to every 1 of Elliotts and that includes his latest back to back. Elliott wouldn't be getting this stretch if it wasn't for the shutouts. I would think the want to keep Halak in rhythm for the playoffs, therefore over 50% of the starts from here on out. Obviously a bit of an aside there, but just trying to say I wouldn't necessarily count on 50% of the remaining games for Elliott. |

I have the exact same issue. I picked up Elliot yesterday, and I already have Rinne.
Elliot seems like he's due to let one or two in, but the Blues are playing at home....and the shutouts per/season total is likely pretty important to the team at this point - they have a chance to set a modern-era record, and a significant one at that. I'm leaning towards Elliot, but I'm curious to see if you get any other responses to your question.

I should also add this.
Ward is playing TOR tomorrow as well who I'm strongly thinking of playing and I can only play two goalies.

Granted, you do only have 9 starts left on the season but I don't think you will be in a position to get a lot of starts from Elliott after tomorrow night. I strongly agree with those who believe Halak will get the majority of the games from here on out to prep for the playoffs, so Elliott could be endangered species come Wednesday. I think you're safe starting both guys, and then working primarily Rinne with a sprinkle of Cam Ward from here on out. Good luck. Cheers.

Thanx guys.
I believe Elliott will probably get at least one more due to their b2b to end the season.

The question remains though...which is the better play if you can only choose one? I'm about 50 fantasy points out of first. Shutouts are huge in my league (12 points), and I'm thinking the home team is more likely to get one.
So, if you could only play one of the two, which one do you go with?

Personally, I would roll with Rinne.

My stats are only W(2), OTL(1), SO(2).
I really can't see STL with another SO, but there have been some pretty crazy things happen this year. Rads is also looking good in NAS and as mentioned previously, Rinne could be due for a big game. This could be a preview of the west finals. Should be a great game regardless. I'm still leaning a bit with Rinne. They have also won 4 of the 5 this year in all close games.

Taking Rinne.
Play Elliott as well or keep Ward in?
