Default Fantasy hockey Draft LOTTERY Simulator based on NHL rules

Our league wants to set up a lottery for our 12 non playoff teams, similar to the NHL. Does anyone know of a simulator that can be used based on NHL?

The problem im really having is this:

Teams can only move up 4 slots maximum (ie. only the top 5 teams have a shot at winning the lottery) and drop no more than 1 spot in the order. So whoever finishes last overall in the regulatr season standings has a 48.2% off winning the draft lottery.

Otherwise here are the odds for the 12 teams based on NHL:

Odds of Winning the 1st Overall Pick - as of March 23rd
48.2% - Columbus Blue Jackets
18.8% - Edmonton Oilers
14.2% - Montreal Canadiens
10.7% - New York Islanders
8.1% - Toronto Maple Leafs

The 2012 NHL Draft Lottery Odds are listed below - as of March 23rd

25.0% - Columbus Blue Jackets
18.8% - Edmonton Oilers
14.2% - Montreal Canadiens
10.7% - New York Islanders
8.1% - Toronto Maple Leafs
6.2% - Minnesota Wild
4.7% - Tampa Bay Lightning
3.6% - Anaheim Ducks
2.7% - Carolina Hurricanes
2.1% - Winnipeg Jets
1.5% - Buffalo Sabres
1.1% - Calgary Flames

Any suggestions?

If you can wait, I like the idea of mirroring your league standings with the NHL and when they do their draft lotto, you'll have your answer! (i.e., it Montreal wins, the 10th place team in your league gets bumped up to 1st overall) Its accurate and a fun way to follow the draft lottery a little closer.

i made a draft ball tumbler and you get a set amount of balls in the tumbler depending on where you finnish. we hold a draft night and spin for our picks. everone has a chance to be first but the odds are still greater for the worst teams. the managers all seem to like it and it wasnt that hard to make. i made ours out of two heinekin mini kegs and a stand made from old hockey sticks.

We use this system also with a little tweaks, ofcourse, and it's only for the bottom 3 teams in our 11 team league.

I like this idea if you can wait till the actual draft lineup is determined. You would assign each team the actual NHL team on where they finished. Then wait for the NHL draft lottery to take place and the winner in the actual lottery is the winner in your fantasy lottery.

They would then move up the same number of spots as the actual team that won.
