I'd take Big BUff well before him as well, but Yandle's contract is a nice one - not overpaid at all. $5.5 for a top d scorer and solid peripherals (not huge in anything but solid across the board) you've got a top dman locked in to a decent contract for 4 more years (or is it three).

Buck Fush is right when taking guys like Pietrangelo etc - but Pietrangelo is gonna see his speed bumps too.

Phaneuf I'd take as well, but only if you can swallow that extra million bucks. Really depends on how much of a crunch your cap puts you in. Not sure I'd take Doughty before him just cus his contract is so huge and he's just as young so he'll see his ups and downs as well.

Buff, Edler, Pietrangelo, Phaneuf are all gone. I believe Z is still there. The ones I listed are pretty much the cream of the crop still available.

I would take Yandle before any of those guys you listed in your first post. It's tough to buy on a guy who isn't performing up to expectations but to get Yandle within that group is nice.

I watch a ton of PHO games as a Yandle owner as well as a Doan in the first half and Whitney most recently. Yandle has been "in" on a lot of scoring plays where it touched three other guys before it went in, especially on the PP. This isn't necessarily indicative that he's bound to post 60 again next year (ok 59) but he has been on the ice for a lot of goals where he's been in on the play but just not touching the puck at the right time. The points will come.

Big Z is a great option, but the age thing is def tough to swallow. That's a tough call to make as Big Z is a stud in your pool.

Yandle picked before my pick.

Now looking at either Duncan Keith or Marc Giordano. Shattenkirk could be had too. I am still about 3 picks away from mine.

Go with keith or Chara. Chara still has at least 5 elite years left IMO.. And I bet he is a top 3 ranked D in your pool both this year and last. Keith has a nice contract and situation so if you wanna go young go with him.

I'd make sure to try and snag giordano or seabrook with the one of your following picks as both would be ideal #2 dmen in your format.

In a salary cap league I really like Shattenkirk.

Also OEL if he's available is a no-brainer but I guess he probably isn't.
