Exactly. He's one hit away from it being retirement time. You have to handicap this in terms of percentages. How likely does anyone think it really is that he'll never suffer another concussion? Be honest- is anyone here going to put that number over 25%? Even in just the next two seasons? Remember what caused him to just miss 3 months, he didn't get rocked by a 6'6, 250 lb monster. He was accidentally elbowed by a small guy going a few miles an hour...

If this was a stock, it would be time to sell. His value is ridiculous. You should be able to land a huge package before his next headache.

Damn all of you and your "reality checks" and "temperiong expectations". Can't we all just say, in unison, "everything will be ok, everything will be ok", as I do twice a day? Lol.

Crosby pretty much single-handily tipped the scales in my favor in the Championship and he's the reason I won one of my leagues last night. Ugh, that's so bitter sweet. I guess for one day I can like the kid right?

My keeper league championship was kind of ironic in that regard. I traded Crosby midseason for a package of Getzlaf / T. Hall and I thought I made out pretty sweet in the deal, still do.

But, I was facing off in the Finals against the manager to whom I traded Crosby earlier in the year, so I almost felt like I was going to get bit in the ass somehow. Ultimately, the goaltending duo of Mike Smith / Pekka Rinne was enough to carry me to the title, but Crosby definitely had me sweating. He certainly outperformed Getzlaf and the injured Taylor Hall over the course of my playoffs.

Moral of the story: No matter what the "smart" decision might be with Sidney Crosby as a "commodity" at this very moment, he still has the game-breaking ability that can singlehandedly win championships. Case in point, Fung.

Don't forget the lesson.

Haha,

Yeah Smith and Rinne were monsters. It's funny, because this was a 1-year league and people were bailing on Sid at the draft (because of his injury) and I "gambled" and snagged him around 20th overall.

He came back just in time for my playoffs and put up good numbers in the first 2 rounds but this past week he went bananas, putting up 25 points! I won by 7.3 and if Sid put up with he did the previous 2 weeks (14 and 13) I lose.

When healthy, Sid is still fully capable of being that gamechanger. That said, in a keeper league, I would deal him every single day for the "right price" - it all comes down to situation and value.

For example, I can't blame you one bit for dealing him in a keeper for Getzlaf and Hall. NO ONE expected Getzlaf to completely fail this year and Hall has the makings of a goal scoring star. Sure, the deal looks "different" now because Sid is healthy, Hall isn't and Getzlaf busted this year.

Today I'm a happy Crosby owner. Come next week though, I hope he gets pistol whipped by a carjacker while he's driving to Game 1.

A little harsh no? I'm personally hoping for a minor slip and fall...
