Here are two "borderline" prospects. With the acquisition of Hodgson by the Sabres.
What are your thought on the future of Adam VS Hodgson from this point on? Regards

Hey Beejer, let me take a crack at this one!!!
Well, fot what it's worth... Hodgson and Adam were closely ranked on the prospect chart. Therefore, Hodgson when drafted had 1st line upside talent writen all over him. He now projects more as a sound responsible two-way 2nd line center with an offensive threat. He may find himself handeling 2nd PP duty and pivot on the 2nd line. Adam on the other hand has exceeded expectation over the past three years and project top 6 potential. Mold himself as a power forward similar to Erik Cole. Unfortunately, after a rocket start in the show... has falled to produce in a second-third line role. With the departure of Kassian, he should graduate onto a scoring line. I figure your looking for a more indepth analysis as to how they will affect each other on the Sabres. Hopefully, they could find themselves lining up together as early as next year. Comparing both is almost a wash... I guess it comes down to your personnal player type preferences. IMO

It's close for me but I give the edge to Hodgson because I think the Sabres will give him the opportunity to be the #1 center. And another summer working on his skating can make a big difference next year.

With Vanek, Roy, Pominville, Leino, Staford, Ennis and Hodgson I really don't picture Adam playing a top 6 role next year.
I see Foligno already leapfrogging Adam for ice time and opportunity. Hodgson for me. If the Sabres trade Roy eventually you'll see Hodgson centering the top line possibly. |

Ya, I think with the investment the Sabres made in Hodgson, he will get plenty of opportunity to shine there. As Beejer mentioned earlier, Adam got off to a great start then fizzled out and sent to the AHL. He really isnt doing much down there to help his cause (9pts in 15g) to bring him back up. Thats why you see Foligno getting the call to the show and not Adam. There is such a glutten of Fwds in Buffalo right now with a better pedigree and earning the top icetime (including Hodgson). I like Luke Adam and think hes a solid prospect, but right now thats all he seems to be. Hodgson seems to be proving himself as a solid NHL player. Right now, this one isnt even close. Hodgson by a mile.

Hodgson and as dm stated it is not even close. The 2 players pedigrees are not in the same league and there skill levels are not in the same league. I don't understand how any sane person could project Adam (or Kassian for that matter) being a better player then Hodgson...
