Wondering who has the upper edge here from production, depth and upside from here on out. Both risky given KHL, but who would you pick?

Kuznetsov. Less risky, higher upside

How is Kuznetsov less risky than Radulov? I'd say there's a better chance of Radulov coming over than Kuznetsov.
And at this point, Radulov is already a star player and way more proven Kuznetsov. |

Well I don't think too many folks will disagree about the KHL risk!
Give me Radulov. The track record is there and you just can't ignore that. To be honest, I also think upside is pretty much a wash, slight advantage perhaps to Kuznetsov. Kuznetsov has really not proven anything yet though. Radulov is hitting his prime and the numbers, whether from his few early years in the NHL or in the KHL have to be considered impressive. The thing poolies drool over when they think of Kuznetsov, is what if the Caps go back to a much more offensive oriented system, what are the possiblities there? Opportunity, right place, right time, it could happen. But, I'll take the surer thing and that's Radulov IMO.

this year in the khl rads had 63 points and kuz had 41. at this point and for the next few years rads still has the higher upside. after that it depends on if he goes back to nashville or plays for another team and if ovechkin can pull his head out of his own butt. it's really stuck up in their at the moment.
slight edge to radulov. |

Seems to be a lot of confidence in radulov returning. Based on what? I think the likelihood of seeing Kuznetsov in the NHL next year is far more likely than Radulov. Kuz is nearly 6 years younger, so obviously he is less proven, but the potential upside is more.
I own both. I have high hopes of Radulov returning, but even better hopes of Kuznetsov lighting up the NHL for years to come. Bu

It seems more and more likely every day that Radulov will return to the Preds to play the remainder of the season. That way he'd get his last contract year off the books and he'd be an RFA in the summer. If he wouldn't come until summer, he'd have to play next season in Nashville anyway.

Kuznetsov, on the other hand, just got married, and his KHL team is offering him a lot of cash money. Would he really want to uproot his young family to go play in a foreign country, on the other side of the world no less, where he'd have to play for peanuts for three years? |

There are reports out there that Radulov might be the highest paid player in either the NHL or KHL, making more than Ovechkin. That itself means he's more risky to me and less likely to come back to the NHL.
Kuznetsov also very risky but to me he's less risky than Radulov.
