I think the interesting dynamic here is that if Parise leaves that could be a big upgrade for him and downgrade for Kovalchuk. Conversely, if Parise stays then the status quo remains, which may give Kovalchuk the advantage. A lot of hypotheticals to speculate about on this one.

If you remove Kovy's 2 month slump to start last season, he's been a point per game since 2006 (and the 2 years prior to 2006). So consistent, and with a mid 90s upside. Gotta take Kovy.
