It's like Risk in that there are territories for you to advance through.

But the rules are much more complicated. It's a really good game, even if some houses are handicapped to begin with(poor Tyrells and Greyjoy).
The first game you play takes a long long time due to learning, but they get shorter as time goes on.

It's a great game though. My friend was the Lannisters and won in traditional fashion when my friend playing Stark flubbed hard on the last turn, leaving a castle open for the taking, giving Red the win. It was so, so sad
