Default Zuccarello?

Not for the league in my sig...

Was offered Mats Zuccarello in a trade. IMO I think the Rangers are too deep for Zucc to get a fair chance (he was passed by Hagelin this year), so it's likely he's a bust.

Is this a fair assessment?

That ship has sailed... hit an iceberg... and has sunk like the Titanic. Laugh at that offer and keep it movin'.

I dont think I would call him a bust. Its still early to say. I guess it would depend on who the overall offer and how deep your prospects go. I look at every prospect as an opportunity, especially if the other owner thinks they are dumping him.

I think hes a good buy low opportunity and worth acquiring (again depending on how deep your prospect pool is) for the right price. If the seller is trying to sell him as the Rangers top prospect, then no, I wouldnt entertain the idea.

Maybe share the full offer, and I think you will get a better assessment on his value.

I was thinking about him the other day. Whatever happened to him? Last year everyone was talking about him constantly and now this is the first I've heard about him since the season started. What happened? I must have missed whatever did happen.

I dunno... My guess is that he's having a serious sophomore slump (although I seem to remember that he has decent production in the AHL) and that since the Rangers are deep in young forwards they had the luxury of sending him down and leaving him there.

As for the offer... there really isn't one, it's more that the other GM came up to me and told me he was looking to deal Zuccarello and was I interested.

Am I alone in thinking that a trade would do Zuccarello a world of good?

Torts chose to put Zuccarello on the ice tonight for a powerplay in the final 2 minutes of overtime. He also scored an assist earlier in the game.

Basically, yes. But, he played a really strong game on the powerplay so he may force Torts hand in keeping him in the lineup for a few more games annd taking out big-bad John Scott.

With him being demoted, Hagelin and Mitchell sticking, Wolski still being around and Wellman coming over, i just couldn't see this guy getting another shot, let alone a fair one with NY. Hopefully he gets a chance to stick in the NHL, whether with NYR or elsewhere.

Thanks for the info. That is what I assumed, but just wanted to be sure since he was playing 2nd line and got some PP time tonight.
