H2H league, cats are: G,A, P, +/-, PPP, SOG, PIM
Start 2C, 2RW, 2LW, 2F, 4D, 1 Util (ignoring goalies for this post) My team right now: LW: Parise, Lucic, Hall, Booth, Perron, Ott, Nash C: Zetterberg, Mueller, Bergeron, Carter (IR), Plekanec RW: Iginla, Downie, Peverly D: Doughty, Keith, Phaneuf, Salo I have an offer on the table: My Booth,Perron,Salo His Suter, Samuellson, Kulikov I need a better 4th D badly, and Suter is an upgrade over Salo I think. My question is, is this giving up too much? Samuellson and Kulikov are worthless in my opinion, I would drop them for some waiver wire acquisitions. Potential waiver targets: Giordano, Beaucheman, Bolland, Bouwmeester, Fisher, Hamhuis, Grabner Any advice would really be appreciated - do i take the deal and then drop the panther players for upgrades? Should I just drop someone for Giordano and hope he gets in a groove after coming back from injury? Please help, all advice welcome! |

I like this deal to be honest... Booth and Perron are fringe ww players anyways, Suter is a big upgrade over Suter, so you're giving up 3 "okay" players for one of the best blue-liners in fantasy hockey.
With those 4 you should be set at the blue-line position then just move Kulikov for Fisher and you're set.

So are you looking for good advice or just any advice?
![]() IMO Suter is far and away the best player in the deal, everyone else is easily replaceable..... except for Kulikov,.... I'd assume you're in a 1 year league? If you are then Kulikov is a throw in, and considering his recent knee surgery, a throw away. I say "except for Kulikov" because I'm a believer in his ability to step up, and I have him in a keeper league so that is part of my faith and value in him... he will be good. So I suggest you do the trade, then assuming it's a 1 year league toss both Panthers. If you want an extra D-man, pick up Gio, he's a fine talent, although Hamhuis has been quite decent this season now that I think about it. If you have free agent pick ups to burn then grab Bolland while he has opportunity with Toews and Sharp out. If not then Fisher is an acceptable second,... steady, not spectacular, but certainly usable. Bottom line, take the trade for Suter, figure the rest out later.

Yeah Suter is the best asset in the deal but I don't get the value in doing this trade. Perron has 17 points in 24 games, is a plus 8 - takes some PIMs and gettiing in 2+ shots per game. You aren't replacing him with anything that is on the wire. I would drop Salo for Giordano or Beauchemin (who is playing very well right now) and I think you are ahead of the game by a bit.
Drop Booth for Fisher who is hot right now.

I decided to pull the trigger and pick up Giordano and Fisher. Fisher has way more shots than Bolland & I figure Bolland will cool once Sharp and Toews are back.
I hate to give up on Perron and Booth here b/c I've sat on them for most of the season and I think they can be productive, but I'm getting rid of 3 really injury prone guys for more steady/reliable players. And there is always the hope that Suter gets moved to Detroit or somewhere else at the deadline. Thanks for the input guys! |
