I have 3 possible starts today and only one goalie slot to play, so I have to pick one of my goalies and am having a hard time figuring out who to go with.
All the teams are playing on the road. I have... Thomas/Rask @ Washington Capitals (not too sure about this one, feel washington will really want to win to show up Timmy Thomas not going to see the pres) Anderson @ Phoenix Coyotes (Ottawa did play in LA last night but it is Turris' first game back in Phoenix since being traded) Hiller @ Dallas Stars (Ducks are on a role, Ribiero is supposed to be back tonight, but no Benn) help!

I'd go with Thomas/Rask at Washington. I know it's going to be a tough game but that's the reason you drafted a top tier goalie like him. Play him with confidence. I'd do the same with Rinne.

True.
I just have a bad feeling about the game, don't know why. last time I had a gut feeling Thomas let in 5 goals where Hiller went on to have a really good game. That being said, I think it's Rask playing tonight.

If your gut tells you not to start him coupled with the fact that Rask is most likely playing tonight, then I'd go with your gut. Out of the other two games, I'd be inclined to roll with Hiller. I have this feeling that they will have a big game and put up a high number of goals.

Wow, I like all of these matchups. Really tough call.
If I had to pick only one I'd have to side with Boston against an Ovi-less and Backstrom-less Capitals. I know Hiller is on fire but Lehtonen has the ability to go all world...I'll never forget that game that he played against the Blues last week or the week before, he was absolutely incredible. As for Anderson, really don't have a good reason for NOT starting him, I just like Boston's chances tonight is all. |

bOndon said it best. That is a great point about Ovie and Backstrom being out. I really think Boston can win. I see Dallas v Anaheim as a toss up and with Ottawa playing as well as they are, you can never count them out. I don't mean to get sidetracked but I know you guys are frequent contributors to my daily musings.
I need some help if y'all don't mind.

Go with who is playing the Caps. No Backstrom, Green or Ovy, the game before the all star break and against a team that has been lights out so far this year - so much going in their favor.
Unless you think they will struggle to score without all-world set up man Andrew Ference
