I love how we all designate beers for certain people groups or the types you want to get rid of so you can buy beer you really want. I always have to justify buying beer, but I heard I can get Sierra Nevada Pale Ale for like 22 bucks for a 24 pack and that's a sweet deal. I'm gonna have to go pick that up.

Was a good and bad night.

The good: picked up a 6er of dead guy ale, a 6er of Granville Maple Lager, a Pike Double IPA, a Lagunitas Hop Stoopid, and a Phillips Double Barrel.

The bad (nay, the terrible): Red Racer is no longer available in Alberta. At all. And my friend drank my last one last night. So upset.

Also this is random but a few of my friends have recently gotten into good beers as well, and as a result I've organized an annual event that I'm calling beermas (yes, lame I know).

Anyway it's like secret Santa, draw names and make up a 6 pack of assorted beer and give it to the person who's name you got.

I know shipping beer isn't an easy task persay, but I figured I'd extend the invite!

He's joking, right?

Anyone able to get Yuengling? I'm curious enough to try it since it sounds fairly good.

Oh, and last night we went to one of our family nights with my wife's family. We had pancakes and without thinking about it, I grabbed a beer. Well, beer and pancakes isn't that bad. Maybe that's just the alcoholic in me, but it could have been way worse. By the way it was Killian's Red. That's all my new father-in-law buys. It's cheap and good enough.

So who will you be mailing the body parts to? That's a Canadian thing isn't it?

That was so wrong.....bad NWO....bad boy.

Tell me how you liked the Hop Stoopid. Had a bottle last weekend and was fairly impressed. Good double IPA.

Had a really good one a few weeks back, Z Lager from Ft. Collins Brewing. Very similar to a Scotch Ale Wee Heavy but with a bit less of a char taste. BA classifies it as a Rauchbier, which according to their write up of the style Rauch is German for smoke. That's exactly the flavor it has too, a bold smoky taste. If your a fan of Scotch Ales and/or smoked meats, like BBQ, give it a try I think you'll be impressed. It pairs up great with a hickory smoked brisket or some baby back ribs.

Not that weird at all bud. If you can find it, it's a seasonal, try Great Divide's Espresso Oak Aged Yeti Stout, it goes good with breakfast. I've had it with hashbrown and sausage skillet breakfast, pancakes, waffles, and biscuits and gravy. Always hits the spot, and never tastes out of place.

Too soon, too soon...

Yea, I'll let you know. I'm really interested to try the Pike Double IPA - I can't find it on Beeradvocate but I was at that Pourhouse Bistro and they had it on tap but it was $11 a pint... and I was like screw that, so went out and bought a big bottle for $9.

Woah now, we don't want to start a war with the 51st state. It's a civil union so far, let's keep it that way NWO. Though, I think you're somewhere else down under.
