Yeah, I hear ya. You Canadians get it pretty cold. It's been in the 90s already this year.

About half the time I go in without a single beer in mind. I just look at what's in stock and just let the beer gods guide me. Doesn't take me long, maybe 20 minutes tops. It's strange, in those situations I never consciously zero in on a specific style, but I often find later that even without a list to guide me I end up with several beers from one style. Truly the beer gods know what will make us happy and quench our thirsts, we just need to tune in and listen to them and all will be well.

I need to sit down after while and list all the beers I've tried over the last couple of weeks and give you guys a run down. Aside from the horrific encounter with that Avery Samaels Ale, I've had some genuinely kick ass beers recently. Might as well share so you guys can try them too.

See, the past two times I went in specifically looking for Makroken. They were out of stock both times. Last time I found some Red Racer and Trois Pistoles so that was a fine back up. Last time I went to get Makroken, they were out of it and Red Racer. I already had a few of my staples sitting in the fridge (Granville and Creemore) so I was at a loss of what to pick. I stumbled upon a 6er of Blanche de Chamblay and given they're usually in the large bottles I picked that up. Then I saw the Trois Pistoles and I figured why not. But then I wanted a 6er of something new to try and everything that caught my eye was only available in big bottles. Big bottles are great in the right time and place, but they're far less convenient for a casual beer.

That's a nice list! On my way back from Seattle for a hockey tourney last w/e...I picked up this beauty:

http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/8/60507

It's available in 6 packs now as part of their Rotating IPA series. It is hoppy and citrusy...made with grapefruit rinds....delicious! I'm off to the pub to celebrate the end of a long week at school and get a head start on the w/e! have a great one boys!

After making it through another long week at work what could be better then some good beer, good music, and hanging out here. Working on my third bottle of good Lagunitas brew, sipping on some of their Censored aka The Kronik. Had a bottle of Little Sumpin Sumpin and Czech Pilsner earlier. Got the TV next to me cranking out Joe Bonnamassa's Live At Rockpalast.

Just a sample of what I'm jamming to right now. This is from the DVD I'm watching...

Life is gooooood right now....
