Everyone taking a beer-cation or what?

NWO, I tried Trois Pistoles last night... unfortunately I was interrupted mid glass and gad to store the remainder in a water bottle as I figured it wasn't a great idea to chug 9% beer before driving... it may not have tasted good from the nasty water bottle, but that first half a glass I had was amazing.

I had a feeling you'd like that one. I've only had the 2 beers from Unibroue but both have been absolutely amazing. Can't wait for the next trip to the store, I'll have them special order those others I mentioned ahead of time.

Speaking of trips to the store, the next one will be delayed a bit. My sister was over from KC this morning and she brought me a good selection of beers, mostly from Lagunitas. Their stuff is available over in Missouri, so she asked me if I had a list of beers I was looking for. I've now got Lagunitas Hop Stoopid, Czech Pils, Little Sumpin Sumpin, Wilco Tango Foxtrot, Censored, and Maximus. Plus some Rogue Chocolate Stout and Deschutes Inversion, Black Butte, and Mirror Pond.

Hey some local restaurateurs opened a soccer bar on my stomping ground, Hertel Ave (Buffalo NY). I'm no soccer fan, but I think I may convert given their beer menu. I was tilting some Hofbrau Original draught last Saturday with the missus.

Recommendations??

ah a Barcelona bar ..... Barcelona's team motto is "mes que un club" which means "more than a club" in Catalan. The team is actually owned by the fans

The football/soccer team was a rallying point for all Catalonians during the Spanish Civil war which saw General Franco's regime take power and attempt to wipe out the Catalan language and culture.

Soccer in Europe is really loaded with political and cultural relevance that goes beyond what we know here in North America.

That Anchor Steam Ale is really good and so is the Fullers ESB if you like bitter that is.

There's nothing that screams out drink me on there but Duvel, Pilsner Urquell, Estrella Damm, Kronenbourg, and Sam Adams are all solid beers. To be fair there's a number on there I haven't tried so take it for what it's worth!

Looking at that list a few jump right out. First off is the three selections from Ommegang, Hennepin, Rare Vos, and Witte. Also I see Samuel Smith listed but it doesn't mention which ones. I've had both the Nut Brown Ale and Taddy Porter and highly recommend them both. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is a good choice too.

I haven't personally tried it but I have a co-worker who has mentioned the Franziskaner Dunkel Weiss and he really liked that one. I'll add it as his past recommendations have been spot on.

Other then that most on there are either ones I haven't tried or ones I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. On that last one I'm looking right at you Corona....
