Dude that is damn close to my lunch today, freaky close. Braunschweiger, vidalia onion, pepper jack cheese, and wasabi all chased down with a can of that Halcyon wheat beer. No italian hard roll, instead I had some sourdough hoagie rolls.

Mom's cooking was great, but there was nothing like going over to Gramma's for Sunday dinner at 2pm. Always amazed me how a 75 yr old could rock the shit out of her kitchen, filling the table with spaghetti, meatballs, sausage, cutlets, salad, her home made raviolis.

At my buddy's Italian stag last year they had a huge buffet with cold cuts, pastas and cutlets etc etc etc and a big dish of tripe in cream sauce. Well a bunch of the non-italian guys (im not italian but i know better) put tripe on their plates amd we all went back to the table. We all sat down and i watched as one by one they each took a bite and then gagged when they swalloed or spit it out into napkins before asking; what the **** was that?, needless to say it all ended up on a big plate in the middle of the big round table and by the end of the night the pot was 200 dollars for any non-Italian guy to eat the lot of it . No one did.

Never had it in a cream sauce. Our traditional plate was always in a thinner red sauce - more peppery, spicy. and with big loaf of bread for dunking!

I guess we don't have to worry about warning you to stay away from the haggis then.

I wouldn't mind sitting down to a big meal and round after round of good beers with you and all the other contributors to this thread. Makes my mouth fairly water to think about all the good cuisine and brews that have found their way into this thread.

Speaking of which I tried that Titan IPA with a good old fashioned country staple, fried catfish and hushpuppies....borderline sexual and religious experience....that was just the beer....but the food was excellent too....
