Nobody else?

Well, I'm off to the Canucks home opener in half an hour. Wife's driving, so managed a Red Racer IPA, and the last Celebration IPA from my trip to Maui. There won't be anything worth drinking at the rink, so the nightcap will have to wait until we're home.

Have a great night kids!

Personally, My favorite beers are from Great Britain, Germany, Belguim, and Ireland. There are many micro-breweries that I like.

So I thought, since I haven't really seen much about it here, what if we talked about the types of beers we're trying out. For instance, I'm trying out Hen's Tooth tonight, which is a bottled beer that ages in the bottle as they pack it with yeast. You have to be careful with the pouring of it, though. So far I'm liking it. It's distinctly British, and I think it's because it reminds me of Hobgoblin Ale from Wychwood brewery.

So far, my go to beers are Bass, Samuel Adams, Guinness (from the can folks) and my favorite microbrews are Pete's Wicked Ale, Rouge's Dead Guy Ale, and many others.

I also just bought an ale from Lost Abbey. Very curious about these brews. They look good. I got the inferno ale which is supposed to be like Duvel (Belgian goodness).

i love beer

TM has ventured into the beer thread. God help us all.

This guy had a few beer too many last night - certainly didn't help that one of them was 15.9%. Hit the liquor store and grabbed some good ones though. Epic Hop Zombie, Maudite, Trois Pistoles, and Tripel Karmeliet. Also found out they started carrying deschutes - f*ck yea! - but were out of everything but black butte and mirror pond.

Dyz....what was the 15.9% monster? Must be feeling rough around the edges this am? Mirror pond is a great Pale Ale and Black Butte, though not my favourite style, is also highly regarded.

I ended my lousy evening at the Canucks game with a free can of Bud....the fans welcome back gift from ownership......wow, thanks! yuck! It tasted like a can of warmish rice.

Actually Bud puts rice, not corn, in their swill...

See, that makes Vancouver's 'welcome back' gift totally worth it now!

Thanks Lochy! I fixed my original post. I rarely (as in never) turn down free beer, but man, I'll have to reconsider the next time. I could have bought an Alexander Keith's IPA for 9.25....don't even get me going.

15.9% sounds an awful lot like Avery Mephistopheles. And this year's batch would be in stores now. Though if it is that one, 15.9 would rank as one of the lowest ABV's that beer has had in recent years, it varies from year to year.

Sure did. Review is pretty accurate - it was really smooth and masked the ABV well.
