For Christmas, my li'l sumpin-sumpin bought me a Belgian beer membership. Beginning January I get twelve bottles of randomly hand selected Belgian sudsieness delivered to my door - every other month.

continueing series, sampling dechutes jubelale, and harmon puget sound porter.

i invariably enjoy dechutes offerings. the jubelale no exception. rich beer with plenty of depth. not as good as hoyne's gratitude, still a very satisfying winter brew.

technically not a holiday brew, the harmon porter surprised right at the outset. poured a lot like a stout, and acted like a stout in the glass. tasted like a stout as well. tasted like a great stout. since i love a great stout, i was happy with the beer, though i am curious why they lable the beer a porter...http://www.harmonbrewingco.com/porter.html interesting write-up. definitely a re-buy.

my entry into the "what the wife got me for xmas" ....flight and eight nights paid hotel for solo vegas trip. booya.

Getting better after being quite ill for 3 days. Drugs started to make me feel better, but I think beer will bring it all home. I just put a homebrew lager into the fridge along with a Hop Zombie. I reckon its just the tonic I need.

Tried a couple of new beers recently.

Junction Craft Conductors Craft Ale - very solid beer, very similar to some cask ales I have had in England and very easy drinking. Hoppy but only a mild bitterness, has some sweetness in ther after taste.

Wee heavy Scotch Ale - Amsterdam Brewing Co.- very good winter beer with a bit of sweetness in there, wouldnt be part of my regular rotation but for a change its nice.
