Don't have experience with shipping beer but I do buy/sell over $10k of paintball gear (something else which isn't always easy getting across the border) every year, primarily us-Canada transactions and have never had any issues as long as you make sure to do a few things.

1) pack well (obviously)
2) don't declare exactly what you're shipping (even more obvious with beer)
3) stay the hell away from ups
4) mark items as a gift - sometimes can help to enclose a card of some sort. Cuts down on custom fees and I've found they are less likely to be flagged.
Some great advice! I've also read to mark box as "fragile" and "collectible glassware"

Yea, in that one link it said to declare as collectible glassware and use the code associated.

Marking it fragile is useless though... Can incur extra costs and it doesn't get handled any differently. I guess it could convince someone it's really glassware though.

I'm curious to hear how a few of these trades go before I jump in. I'd love to share some of the local goodies, Blvd, Tallgrass, Free State and get my hands on some of the good stuff we can't get.

So I am having the Hop Stoppid for the first time and DAMN!

That packs a serious citrus punch. Ya know the difference between orange and orange zest; lemon and lemon zest? The citrus bursts from the get-go. Nothing subtle here.

Not to be confused with other citrus flavored beers like Blue Moon. Moon is flavored orange where Stoopid is the zest.

Good stuff!

Most of the way through a 6-pack of Founders Centennial IPA. Love this stuff. Lots of grapefruit & pine on the palate, but very smooth and crisp mouthfeel.

This sounds similar to red racer... Aka I would love it. Man going to have to see if founders is available in my area.

Picked up a bomber of Fat Tug IPA and one of the Phillips Green Reaper fresh hop IPA... and on the way to the check-out I took the less direct route and discovered a shelf of unchilled beers which include Rare Vos and Rochefort 6,8, & 10... looks like more sampling is in my future.

You haven't tried out rocheforts yet? Man get on that stat. Legitimately some of the best beers in the world, and second only to the Westvleteren as far as Trappist beers go. And it's pretty close.

Hop Stoopid is Delish....and at that price...ridiculous. Try having 44 oz in one sitting and see why they call it "Stoopid".
