There you go Dyz. That would be a great idea if your a renter, and doubly so if you rent an apartment. I have my house and a decent sized patio so I have room to use one of the offset firebox types.

I use something similar to this...

Funny thing, when I went to Brinkmann to look up my smoker I didn't see anything like that on their website. I bought mine about 8-10 years ago, so I guess in the meantime they've revamped their product line. Back then mine cost about $250, now looking at competitors offerings, it would set me back well over $500 for one like I have.

Yea, smokers aren't so common up here. Just your standard Grill BBQ's.

Live in a condo so space is limited, just have a little concrete slab outside haha.

Those have become all the rage. They're the Cadillac of ceramic kettle style smokers. I know a few people who have them and they swear by them.

Since you live in a condo Dyz, the Weber grill idea would be a really good one for you. Also you could go with something like this.....

http://www.brinkmann.net/products/ou...tem=852-7006-0

They do ship outside the US but you have to call an 800 number to order.

Hmm, yea I'm going to have to look around. Is there something that can function as a grill and a smoker? Or is that basically what the Weber is?

yeah I like it a lot. It's obviously not a smoker per se, but flavor-wise the smokieness is there. And you can control the strength too through various means (eg vent opening, soaking the chips, indirect heat...etc).

It's def my favorite purchase thus far.

It's cooking the meat through heat (direct or indirect), but it imparts...infuses the smoke flavor. Also, I use lump hardwood charcoal. better flavor, burns longer/hotter than that kingsford crap.
