The La Fin is amazing. I was expecting a Hoegaarden-type aroma but it's not at all. Smoother not as strong on the clove and orange but its there just not at the front of the palate. Very balanced. This beer is awesome.

For the record that is a ridiculous price for a Labatts. I think they are preying on those who dont know its shit and just want a Canadian beer, which are very hard to acquire down here.

A bottle of blue here in buff is $2.50...i think. Draft is cheaper and they always sell Blue specials during games

Well, my wife is at Costco and she's bring me home a mix pack of Guinness, Harp, Smittwicks, and something else. Should be fun.

I may have to drop by there though as there's a firestone pack that has their 805, Pale 31, DBA, and Velvet Merlin. So I might need to get that one to try all those out.

My wife found a good package of mixed irish brews so I'm excited to get that as I like most Irish stuff.

There is a Firestone pack that has their 805, DBA, Pale 31, and Velvet Merlin and I think I need to pick that up as well. Might have to stop by soon.

Mmmmmm..up first La Fin Du Monde. Keep ya posted.
Going to have to let me know how that Three Philosophers is... tempted to get it every time but at $15 a bottle it's like F$^%($#T*RE.

That one will be tomorrow, after a full day of Saturday outside chores (winterizing the yard), when I can sit and fully enjoy it with some grilled animal product.

Man, it's not even noon and I can't wait to get home and pop open the Rochefort.

I know what ya mean about cost. This new merchant on Hertel has some large bottles of Belgian Biere Bruts that I have never heard of going for $32. Looked bigger than 16oz. Not sure...

Anyone have any familiarity w/these cross-overs?

Are all the Ommegangs good? I know you've mentioned Rare Vos several times. Saw a variety pack the other day - think 2 Hennipin, 2 Abbey, 2 BPA, and 2 Three Philosophers (330ml bottles) for $42.

Honestly from what I have heard, yes. However, I have had only the Rare Vos and the Hennepin. The Hennepin is a Saison and I find it to be solid. I have not much experience with Saison's so my perspective is narrow.

The Rare Vos...well, that kicks Hennepin's ass any day. Far more balanced amber ale. In fact, I thought the La Fin Du Monde was right on par w/ the Rare Vos. Both are exceptional.

The Three Philosophers is a quad, and I have zero experience with quads so I really don't know what to expect. My purpose for purchasing it was to get out of my comfort zone.

If anyone can recommend some grill recipes that would pair well with the Three Philosphers, I'd appreciate it.
