Growing your own hops! That seems very hard core.

Ooooo, a lemongrass ipa...I am intrigued. First time w/ the lemongrass?

Thanks Dyz, and yeah this is my first lemongrass batch. Had a few good ones recently and decided to give it a shot. Robbie - What kind of yeast strains do you have going? I havent tried that yet. If you live in an area with remotely decent weather, I'd recommend growing hops. I'm in Minnesota and they grow like weeds here, very low maintenance, just have to have a fence or something to climb.

A four day weekend has begun and La Maudite is uncorked. I like the way this is shaping up.

And PtG, I have cultures of ale yeast and a few lager yeasts from a number of abbeys and some old breweries in Holland/Belgium/Germany/France. However, they've been frozen now for a while. Also, for some of them, I had to sign an agreement not to use the cultures for brewing in order to receive the samples.

Apparently there's a new pub or whatever opening downtown here which sounds pretty awesome. Small, cozy place with 72 craft beer on tap. Saw a small sampling of their tap menu and while not amazing (for example, they waste taps on Stella, etc.) there's definitely some gems on there. Will have to check it out.

The downside: it's downtown
