A six pack of La Fin Du Monde and a six pack of Spinnakers Blue Bridge Double Pale for my weekend...

9% and 8.2% respectively, this ought to blur my week out nicely.

Got some Firestone Walker Union Jack in the glass as I type, Trois Pistoles, and Lagunitas Little Sumpin Sumpin chilling in the fridge for later.

Also stumbled upon one I hadn't found before from my boys at Blvd. It's called Reverb, and they classify it as an imperial pilsner. Sounded absolutely delicious, I might even sub that one for the Little Sumpin Sumpin.

I realized last night what it is about Duvel that I really like...it's a very fresh, crisp tasting beer. Not in a watered down way, no, it has substance and depth but it's just so damn fresh.

Dunno how else to describe it...

I've been drinking boring, cheap beer recently. Spending more money on brewing my own. I bottled up a lager and there is an IPA fermenting right now. Hopefully by Xmas time, I'll have 3 batches of beer that are ready to drink. I haven't decided what to brew next. Maybe some sort of darker beer? A red ale?

Getting the beer into the bottle took way longer than I thought. The cleaning and sanitizing of the bottles/caps/equipment took longer than I envisioned. All up it was a 3 hour mission. It wasn't work tho. It was enjoyable. I also like cooking. I can spend 3 hours cooking something and I'll have a nice relaxing time. It was the same feeling bottling the beer. I listened to some tunes in the basement, bottling beer. Great de-stress activity.

I will be able to try the lager about a week from now. I estimate that it will be about 3.5%. Lower than I was hoping, but I hope its got some flavor. The IPA I'm brewing will likely be around the 4.5-5% mark. The next beer, I think I'll ramp it up to 6-7%.

Can't go wrong with either.

Okay, so I went to my towns Yard House. I hadn't been, yet and the food was fine. The burger could have had more flavor, but oh well. The fries were good.

Now for beer I tried Rogue's Hazelnut Brown Nectar. I really enjoyed this. It's a very balanced and tasty brew.

Then I had Gulden Draak on tap as well. Never had it on tap before and me likey! It's so smooth from the tap. I highly recommend trying it this way if you can find it.

Great looking list.

Hey does anyone know what Roscoes is? I just had their pale ale and it was fine, nothing special. It's all of a sudden popped up in my area and my spidey sense is going off. I think it might be a "craft" brewery that's actually made by budweiser. Anyone know anything about it. I hope I'm wrong.

A search on BA brought this up....

http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/21092

If that was either a Roscoe's Hop House Original India Pale Ale, or Hop House Pale Ale then that's your brewer. Given their ratings, and your reaction, it doesn't sound like one you'd want to pursue.
