Wow! What a week here in Bend, Or. This is truly one of the best beer destinations in the States. You travel down the I5 thru Washington which is certainly no slouch in the craft brew world. Then you pass thru Portland which is incredible, and continue SE until you hit Bend.

The BrewFest was incredible and sampled so many great brews. The three that really stood out were these:

The Night Owl pumpkin was tasty too, but it just didn't feel right drinking a pumpkin brew in 110F heat!

Give it a month or two and the pumpkin ale will be awesome. I can't wait to try one of those as I've never had a pumpkin ale.

Yeah, I'm definitely an IPA guy. Don't get me wrong though, i did sample a number of other great brews and even some ciders to cleanse the 'ol palate in between beer.

I do like the pumpkin ales, but usually closer to October when the weather in BC is cool and crisp.

If you're looking to try a nice sample of the style, the Sam Adams new Harvest box has a couple Oktoberfest and Pumpkins.

Yeah, I'm waiting for that to come out. My buddy says their pumpkin ale is pretty good. I like their Ocktoberfest. It's not the best I've had as Spaten makes a better one, but it's darn good for something that's affordable when you can usually buy a 12 pack for about 12 bucks.

Kicked off the weekend with a bottle of Long Strange Tripel to go with a steak and some homemade fries. Plenty of stouts lined up for tonight. Got some Dark Truth, some Buffalo Sweat, and Yeti. And lots of equally good music.

Just yanked a Stella outta the fridge...no big whoop, but it's my go-to beer. heading out w/ the Lady tonight to a new joint so I am anxious to see what draught beer they have on tap.
