I work hospitality, so as long as I'm good to drive home I can drink all day.
Well, at least up to the point at which I no longer appear to care about the customers' problems... you have to be able to appear as though you care.

Saturday night fellas. What are we all drinking?
I spent most of the day out in the scorching sun at a bithday party for kids. Threw back a bunch of Bud Light Limes (Don't tell anyone...they were good!). Came home and started the night off with a Firestone Walker Union Jack IPA, and have now moved on to a Switchback IPA from Lighthouse on the Island...2 of my favourite beers. Enjoy the night!

Just opened the bottle of Rochefort 8. Mmmmm that's a good Dubbel. Much maltier than the American variation of the style. Also more of a pronounced alcohol character as well. Really loving this one and I can see why people rave about it.
Not quite sure what to have next, likely a Samuel Smith Nut Brown Ale, or maybe a Dark Truth. Could be the Rochefort 10 too. |

I've been on a bit of a tear with spending money on beer the last 3 weeks. I just realized that I cannot afford it anymore! I went with a $13 six pack of good IPA instead. The beers are not spectacular, but they are certainly reasonable. I get twice as much beer, but sacrifice on the quality a bit.

So I was at a bachelors party this week and we started at a fantastic craft beer place for some burgers and beer.
Sadly because of it Lagunitas Hop Stoopid is no longer one of my favorite beers. For some reason all I could taste and smell was grapefruit and I couldn't get it out of my head.. I will have to try it again sometime and hopefully it can be one of my favorites again.

Well I've been inspired by 3rtpaper to brew my own beer. Thanks mate. I've started reading up on it and will try and source some of the equipment this weekend. This will be cool!

http://www.howtobrew.com/intro.html <-- very highly rated guide to brewing I've learned a lot and I'm not even done reading it yet. I would start with an extract recipe (not a kit a lot of the kits have yeast packets in them that can be dead and hops that aren't being cooled so they aren't as good). My beers will be tapped this weekend I will be sure to post pictures of all of them.

I think I'll have a Pliny this weekend, maybe some Sam Adams Octoberfest (which I just tried, not too bad, not amazing, but does the job), maybe a Bass, maybe a Stella. It all depends on how much I drink lol.
