In fisty cuff's, well, that's no contest. But can Ray take the starting gig with the Hawks. Goldman has said some pretty complimentatary things about Razor's game recently and no one can argue that he is one tought dude; physically for sure, but mental toughness and smarts seem to have come with Rays' maturing. The Hawks sent a pretty decent Goalie in Salak packing to keep Emery. Can he put it all together? It would seem that Emery may get his chance to make this team his. What do you guys think? Can Razor take the starting job in the Windy City?

As a Emery owner, I'm hoping so. Have watched his last 4 starts, and he's looked great. That said, one or two iffy starts and Quenville will go right back to Crawford. I'm tryign to trade for Crawford as I figure they will be a great tandem to ride through the second half.

I like Emery's determination ... but Coach Q likes to reflect his lack of confidence in his own coaching skills onto his goalies. I was the unfortunate owner of Khabibulin during Coach Q's destruction of that goalie ...
... now I own Crawford .... with likely the same outcome ... ... next will come Emery ... egad ... |

Yeah I think Emery takes the starter's job this season. I've always like Emery, always thought he had great talent and on-ice attitude. It really disappointed me when he self-destructed like he did. It looks like he may just have his head on straight now. I wouldn't write Crawford off though, this year just may not be his year. He's looked really good at times, and at others, really awful.

Just landed Crawford for Stastny and have Emery as the handcuff, so I am pretty happy either way.

Emery is definitely good enough to take the #1 job, and he will get a nice chunk of starts this season regardless of how well Crawford plays.
Crawford's career to this point reminds me a lot of Jimmy Howard's. Toiled in the AHL for a few years with some NHL cups of coffee mixed in. Bursts onto the scene as a 26 year old rookie and competes hard for the ROY trophy. Then crashes back down to earth a bit as a sophomore. Howard has shown the mental guts to bounce back, and I think Crawford has them as well. We'll see of course but long-term I still like Crawford's chances in Chicago. But for this season, sure I can buy into Emery seeing a nice amount of starts.
