Default [10 Players Under 10% Owned]

I thought I'd branch out from my regular 10 thoughts and try out another style list for this week. You will be able to read my '10 Fantasy Thoughts' next week as it will return on Wednesday. This is my top ten for the 'Top 10 players on Yahoo who are under 10% owned'.

1. Steve Sullivan (PIT - LW) - has been manning the point on the top powerplay unit next to Letang. He has struggled out of the gate with eleven points in 23 games, but he does have three points in three games with Crosby in the lineup. He's been seeing time with Malkin and Neal while five on five. A guy who's on pace for 20+ powerplay points should be owned by more teams. (6% owned on Yahoo!)

2. Viktor Stalberg (CHI - LW) - The Swede is in his second season for the Hawks and playing a regular shift with Jonathan Toews and Marian Hossa. He came off to a slow start with four points in his first ten, but now has 8 pts in his last 10. He won't add powerplay points, but will continue to chip in offensively as long as he has Toews as his center. (5% owned on Yahoo!)

3. Troy Brouwer (WSH - RW) - Troy has been playing a regular shift with Alex Ovechkin and Niklas Backstrom. Also, while Green has been out, he has been on the top powerplay unit with Laich, Ovechkin, Backstrom and Wideman. It's unsure how long he'll stick on the top powerplay unit with Semin in the doghouse lately, but he has ten points in his last thirteen while playing sixteen a night. (9% owned on Yahoo!)

4. Kyle Wellwood (WPG - C) - The pudgy center has started his Winnipeg career with 17 points in 22 games with 7 points in his last two. I'll admit that it's hard to see him come close to the pace he's on right now, but it doesn't mean you shouldn't take a chance on him. He has a solid linemate in the injury-ridden Nik Antropov and one of last year's fantasy breakouts, Andrew Ladd. He is also playing top powerplay time. (6% owned on Yahoo!)

5. Curtis Sanford (CBJ - G) - Sanford has been leading the turnaround for the Columbus Blue Jackets with a 3-0-2 record .950 save percentage and a 1.27GAA. Of course we can't expect these numbers to continue, but he is an undisputed starter at the moment and should be watched for the short-term. Last night he was only 8% owned on Yahoo, but now he's already up to 13% owned.

6. Artem Anisimov (NYR - C) - The Yaroslav native has played the last eight games this season with Stepan and Gaborik and has registered 8 points in those games. He's centering the ice-cold second powerplay unit for the Blueshirts but picked up a goal with the extra man yesterday afternoon. Tortorella is known for shuffling the lines so he may not be a long-term option, but for the short, how can one go wrong picking up one of Gaborik's linemates? (5% owned on Yahoo!)

7. Kristian Huselius (CBJ - LW,RW) - While Huselius may not be back until the new year, he is sitting on the IR for the Jackets (also on Yahoo) and is only two years removed from 63 points in 74 games. He may be one of the streakiest players in the NHL, so if you don't pick him up early, then you may be giving up a 55+ point player for nothing (pro-rated). (2% owned on Yahoo!)

8. Adam Henrique (NJ - C) - While Henrique may only make a strong short term pickup with Zajac on his way back, he has been seeing a regular shift in between Parise and Kovalchuk and has played over seventeen minutes in eleven straight games. The only downfall is that he doesn't see much powerplay time. (7% owned on Yahoo!)

9. Daymond Langkow (PHX - C)- Langkow has missed the last couple of weeks due to a leave of absence to attend to a family matter. Prior to that, he had eight points in thirteen games and was playing with Shane Doan and Lauri Korpikoski. His sixty point days are behind him, but he could make for a fifty-plus player (pro-rated). Another thing to worry about is that Turris will return soon. (1% owned on Yahoo!)

10. Zac Rinaldo (PHI - C,LW) He may not add to any offensive categories, but in a league with penalty minutes and hits he'll give you an enormous boost. He leads the NHL in PIMs and is in the top forty in hits. (3% owned on Yahoo!)
