Perron's not playing in Colorado tomorrow, but it sure sounds like he might play on Saturday night.
Here is a JP Rutherford article from yesterday afternoon: http://www.stltoday.com/sports/hocke...a4bcf6878.html Earlier today, he tweeted that Perron was working on a PP unit (doesn't say which one) and that "Hitch says when Perron does come back, he will play top-six role & reg minutes. No such thing as working him in. When he's ready, he's ready."

Does this guy have any fantasy relevance anymore?

He might - his two full seasons in the league (his 2nd and 3rd) he was right around 50 points with decent PIM's and some knack for the PP. The year he was drafted he was noted as being smart, great hands and very good down low on the cycle - good at puck control. Sounds like Hitch might be okay with that.
Time will tell. He's still a kid at 23 - lots of depth in St Louis though so he might not crack the top 6 or PP for a while. |

Look at Rutherford's tweet, Hitchcock's said that Perron will be top 6 from the get-go, and that makes perfect sense based on where he stood when he was knocked out in November 2010. He was playing top 6 mins, had 5 goals in 10 games (7 pts total) with 29SOG. So yeah, I'd say he definitely has fantasy relevance, especially if you can keep him on IR to see what happens with him especially during the first few weeks after his return. Rutherford's also been following him in practice, and recently said he was the best player on the ice. And let's not forget he is one of the better stickhandlers in the NHL, known for his wizardry in that regard: http://www.flickr.com/photos/thepuck...re/3233780852/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/thepuck...re/3233776000/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qq7nkbvn1Ic I can't find it, but there is an NHL promo video where he shows off his sick stickhandling.

Best player on the ice huh? Time to grab and stash maybe. Sounds promising for sure - Blues are getting deeper, just need Berglund to step up.

Doesn't sound like #1 Waiver Wire move for me though, I'll keep waiting. Thanks.

Amen brother! I won't get to enjoy early production as I plan to keep him tucked on IR in the two leagues I own him, but it will be gratifying nonetheless to know I picked a winner.

Awesome news birdguy!
Here's hoping Perron returns with fire in his belly and a 1st PP unit spot.
