BLUES News: Perron cleared for contact at practice - http://KMOV.com http://ow.ly/1fIHZK

"St. Louis Blues forward David Perron has been cleared for contact after being out of the Blues lineup from suffering a concussion over a year ago.

Perron was hit in the head on a blindsided hit from San Jose Sharks forward Joe Thornton on November 4, 2010.

For over a month, Perron had been wearing a red “no contact” jersey at Blues practices. There is still no timetable on his return.

Perron has 131 points (53 goals, 78 assists) and plus-26 rating in 235 career games."

This is by far the best news in the hockey world today... well, yesterday now. I'm sure all Blues fans are ecstatic over this news, let's hope for their sake it doesn't take him as long as it's taking Crosby to come back and play an NHL game. Here's to hoping everything's alright in the ol' noggin for Perron.

Going to be interesting to see what Hitch does with his lineup when Stewart and Perron are both back. They are going to have some fearsome forward depth.

Offense by committee?

Same as it ever was...

Maybe - with 3 scoring lines that certainly can happen. They don't care how they put the points up as long as the W's come.

Hitchcock definitely has this team playing the right way, building a solid team-identity. There is so much forward depth in STL, there is no real reason to ride one or two scoring lines heavily, and that's the way it's been there for quite some time. I don't expect things will change anytime soon, especially with a defensive minded bench-boss.

I'd be okay with that mounD, as long as Oshie brings a little more grit - I really expected him to be hitting more - perhaps he doesn't have to playing with Backes.

Perron (concussion), who has been sidelined for 12 months, could make his return Saturday against the Blackhawks, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Recommendation: Perron's return could provide the Blues with some much needed firepower, taking pressure off of the red-hot Brian Elliott and Jaroslav Halak. The coaching staff is likely targeting Saturday, a home game, to get the last line change. This would allow the Blues to keep Perron away from checking lines while he gets his legs back.

Doesn't sound like a good idea to rush him back if they're worried about him going up against checking lines.

I couln't agree more. He has missed a year, what's a couple more weeks? I know that head injuries are goofy, but assuming he is on the same type of time table as Crosby was, we can probably expect him to play again some time in the next 2 weeks or so.

On a side note, has anybody seen any Blues practices lately? How does he look?
