So what's the deal with this guy Voynov? I missed the boat on him until now (not a terribly deep league - in sig). From what I hear (and saw last night) he's got some pretty decent offensive upside. Last night: Just under 20 min. of ice time, 6:18 on the PP, +2, 5 shots, an assist and two goals, one of the which was the game winner. Is anyone familiar enough with him to know what the chances of him sticking in LA this year are and getting minutes when Doughty returns? I snagged him off the wire since I have a struggling Goligoski right now, and I'm wondering how I should be handling him now that I own him. I'm not expecting big things this year, but should I be expecting SOME things? Thanks for any insights.

Dont expect 2 goals again when Doughty gets back. It looks like if he stays maybe 25 points total.

to early to say. all his pts are from last night. 1 night a trend does not make. and ya, when doughty comes back on sat, he's ice time will prob drop. he's #3 behind doughty and johnson. i was intrigued this morning too but quickly decided against making a judgement too soon

I have had him on my farm since he was 17 and have been patiently waiting for this time.
This year I would say 30-35pts by next year he will surpass JJ and be on the top PP unit for good. He is not be any means a flash in the pan. He has been playing against men since he was 16. Was selected early in the 2nd rd and was a WJC standout. He has improved his overall game in the AHL dramatically over the last 2 years. He is also by no means a liability in is own end, which means if he stays he will continue to get minutes. The only thing holding him back and maybe getting him sent back down is the fact that he has a 2-way contract and no other LA d-man has one. I however do not see him getting sent down, as in 2 of his 5 games this year he has lead the entire team in ice time. In his first 4 games in the NHL LA goalies had shut outs (more to do with the goalies, but still interesting.. They will find a way to keep him here. I would be very happy to have him if I were you.

You definitely win the research award. Thanks for sharing that is solid insight. I'm currently leading my league, so I like the idea of having one or two prospects on my bench since I can afford it for now and it's a full keeper. He certainly seems like the type of guy that is primed to capitalize on opportunity and has the pedigree to back it. I'll hold him for now. Thanks guys.

Uh IMHO he wont surpass JJ . JJ is as good as Doughty. He just as many offensive skills.
